We tremble, gasping into each other’s mouths for a moment before he leans away just enough to look into my eyes.
Fingers flexing against my ass, his gaze searches mine as his expression softens before he quietly says, “There are times when all I want to do is crawl inside you. Be one with you. Never let you go.”
sixty-five
Reyna tucks her face into my neck.
Shit. Did I say too much too soon?
“Damn. I just freaked you out, didn’t I?”
When she pulls back to look at me, her pussy clenches and I instantly go from semi-hard to rock hard again. “Could you... maybe... keep still?” I groan. “I can’t concentrate when you do that.”
“What? This?” She clenches again.
“Goddamn it. Brat. Answer the question.”
She leans in, brushing her nose back and forth over mine in a bunny kiss. “No, Brex. You didn’t freak me out. In fact...” She lifts herself up and sits back down. Hard. “...I feel the same way.”
My heart fills with an emotion so strong there’s only one thing it could be.
“I love you, Rey.”
Her eyes instantly fill with tears. “Oh, Brex. I…”
My heart sinks. “I just… needed you to know. It’s okay if you don’t…”
Palming my face in her hands, she whisper-shouts, “I love you too.”
We’re back in the helicopter and on our way home when Reyna looks over at me.
“So,” she says, voice a little hoarse from all the screaming I caused. “I’ve been meaning to ask you something.”
I glance over at her. “What’s up?”
She shifts in her seat to face me. “So, you know how I told Ari about Dex needing representation?”
“Yeah.”
“Turns out she already knows all about him.” Reyna lets out a small laugh. “Apparently, she’s been following his career and is a huge MMA fan. Even been to a few of his fights.”
“No shit?” I bank left, following the ridge line back toward the airfield.
“Right? She even has a framed poster of him in her office. Even Mia says he’s a ‘hot, ripped Adonis.’”
“Yeah,” I snort. “Most women tend to think so.”
Dex has a huge following. In fact, my brother is world-famous.
“She knows all about his... reputation,” Reyna continues, giving me a careful look. “Even the chair-throwing incident.”
My stomach drops. “Yeah. That happened.”
“According to her, his last lawyer said he’d rather lose his license rather than deal with Dex.”
I wince. “Sounds about right. Dex doesn’t typically play well with others when he’s not in the ring.”
“That’s the thing, though.” Reyna leans in, excitement bleeding into her tone. “Difficult clients are Ari’s specialty. She actually wants the challenge.”
