I press my thighs together in an attempt to ease the throbbing between my legs.
Portland is alive with people spilling out of coffee shops and restaurants, couples strolling holding hands, with the occasional food cart sending plumes of smoke into the air.
Twenty minutes later, Logan turns into a circular drive and pulls up to the valet.
My breath catches in my throat. I know this place.
Modern glass façade, sleek black awning, and a doorman in his dark blue uniform.
Hotel Indigo.
The same hotel where Logan and I spent a weekend together a year ago. A weekend that changed everything.
My chest tightens as memories come rushing back—Logan pressing me against the wall of the elevator, mouth hot on my neck. The way he looked at me across the breakfast table before he fucked me on top of it. How he held me in the aftermath, arms like steel bands around my waist, like he never wanted to let me go.
“Logan...”
Putting the car in park, he turns to look at me, expression soft. “Figured we’d make some new memories. If that’s okay.”
“I love it,” I whisper, my heart swelling with emotion.
Brex opens his door and hops out. “Let’s get checked in. We’ve got a surprise for you.”
The doorman greets us with a smile, collecting our bags as we make our way inside and over to the bank of elevators.
“Logan booked the same suite from last time,” Brex says, pulling out his phone as we step inside.
Angling his body toward mine, Logan presses the button, eyes lingering on me, dark with promise.
When the elevator dings, we step out and make our way down the hall.
“Here we are,” Logan says.
He slides the key card, light flashing green, but just as he’s about to push inside, the one across the hall swings open.
“Surprise!”
I spin around to find Ari standing in the doorway, grinning from ear to ear.
“Ari!?” I rush across the hall, pulling her into a hug. “What are you doing here?”
“Logan called me,” she says, squeezing me tight. “Thought you might want some girl time to get ready for the fight tonight.”
I glance over my shoulder at Logan, who’s watching us with a soft smile.
“You set this up?” I ask, my voice catching.
He shrugs, but the look in his eyes tells me everything I need to know. “Figured you might appreciate having your best friend close.”
“See?” Brex slings an arm around Logan’s shoulders. “Told you he was a big softie underneath all the grump.”
“Shut up,” Logan mutters, small smile quirking his lips as he shoves him away.
“I texted Ari in the elevator so she would know we were on our way up,” Brex grins. “You two have fun getting ready, and we’ll get everything situated in our room.”
“But… my clothes…”
“I brought you an outfit,” Ari says, pulling me toward her room. “And I’ve got champagne on ice. Figured we could order room service and do our hair and makeup together, like old times.”
