Saul laughed, but he was already turning the name around in his mind. He tested it out loud. “Saul Elias Kauffman. Yeah, I kind of like that.” It didn’t hurt that Levi thought it was sexy.
“Well, Saul Elias Kauffman”–Levi sought his hand for a shake and this time Saul let him have it–“I look forward to working with you.”
“Thank you. I do as well.”
“And if you keep Elias, I want full credit for giving my new boss his sexy secret middle name during my job interview.” Levi winked.
They were still holding hands. Where before the touch of skin had been a warm glow, now it sent sparks racing through him.
Levi hadn’t exactly said that Saul was sexy. But even knowing that he thought his name was sexy, his new gender-affirming masculine name, was a huge ego boost right when he needed it.
He didn’t want to let go of that strong hand, but of course he had to.
There would be absolutely no unprofessional behavior between them. No hopeless crushes. And nothing that could be considered favoritism.
But after Saul walked Levi back to Nikhil’s desk, he managed to eat a bit of lunch while he walked through some of his ideas with the finance team.
And just before the all-staff meeting, he made a quick change to the slide.

That should get him a laugh. He was starting to feel like everything would be OK.
Levi
December
Levi drifted between awareness and slumber, settling into his favorite fantasy for falling asleep. He would be snuggled up on the couch with strong arms around him and Daddy’s broad chest pressed to his back. Daddy would flick on a movie, snuggle him close, then reach down and start to trace over his cock through his thin pajama pants.
Daddy didn’t have a specific face or identity, just a feeling of warmth and comfort. His hands were of no particular skin color as they traced over his bulge, but they were both sturdy and careful when he looked down to see them.
“Shhh…” Daddy would say when Levi arched up into his hand. “Watch the movie.”
So Levi would lean back into Daddy’s shoulder, while the din of a movie that had never been a real movie droned in the background. He would close his eyes and let Daddy take him away, with those endlessly teasing fingers.
Sometimes he’d get so aroused in this fantasy that he’d jerk himself until he couldn’t stand it a minute longer and come all over his hands. Sometimes he just nestled in, one hand loosely holding his hard cock and the blankets curled up around him, until he drifted off. Either way, it was almost guaranteed to put him to sleep and lead to pleasant dreams.
Today was a floaty, dreamy day. Daddy was slow and gentle, almost hypnotizing. Levi’s thoughts started to grow hazy and disconnected, Daddy slipping away to a warm sense of being safe and loved.
Loud music cut through Levi’s dreams and he jerked awake. His heart was pounding, though his brain was still groggy. What was that sound? Why was it there?
His hand instinctively tightened on his cock and he moaned at the sensation. After just thinking about being edged like that, he could go off on a hair trigger. The only thing keeping him back was the annoying music.
The sound stopped abruptly and then started up again. He knew that sound. It was… Oh, right. His phone.
He reached under the throw pillow and dragged it out. He’d put it there for the alarm feature, but usually turned the sound off. The caller was listed as unknown, but the numbers seemed familiar. Not his own number, though, like a scammer. It was… Oh, right. The prefix for his job. This was work. Shit.
So… he should probably answer it. Ugh. This was going to ruin a perfectly good nap.
He thumbed across the green bar just as the jingle was reaching the end. “Hello?”
“Hey, Levi? It’s Saul.” Levi didn’t need a name to know who it was. By the end of the first syllable, there were already warm shivers racing through him. He would know that mellow alto voice anywhere. “Uh, did I wake you?”
He settled back into the couch cushions and drew the fuzzy blanket back up. In his muddled state, the Daddy of his dreams acquired a face. Dark hair and dark eyes. Slim hands and rounded shoulders. A sweet little pudge of a belly that was hidden when he wore sharp, commanding suits, but which always drew Levi’s eyes when he was lucky enough to glimpse him in a t-shirt.
