“Not exactly. They are asking questions, and I’m not ready to confirm their suspicions.”
“This feels so strange. Most women want the world to know they’re with me.”
“I’m not most women. Even the tabloids know that.”
Nathan cupped my cheek, stroking it gently with his thumb. “You most certainly are not.”
I turned my face into his touch and hummed, unsure if we meant the same thing.
“I know I said I’d prefer my place, but if you’re tired and don’t want to go all the way uptown, we can stay at yours,” Nathan offered sweetly.
“That would be nice.”
“We can even order from the Chinese food place under your apartment.”
I snorted. “If you want food poisoning with your dinner.”
Nathan chuckled. “Okay. How about I find us some takeout and meet you at your apartment?”
“Sounds perfect.”
