“Yes.” God, yes. My nails dug into his shoulders as he filled me.

“I need you,” he growled as he began to move, each thrust primal. Consuming. Demanding.

I clung to him as he moved, finding a rhythm that was all ours. It didn’t matter that we were pushing our luck or that someone could walk in on us at any moment. Nothing mattered but the way he made me feel. With every stroke, I felt him claim me until the world around us faded away, leaving only us.

“Come for me, boss,” he ordered in a low voice that sent me over the edge. He followed behind, spilling inside me over and over, until we were both spent.

“That was worth it.” I smiled, still panting, as I pressed my forehead to his.

“And we didn’t—”

A flurry of movement startled us, and Anders moved to shield me from our unexpected guest.

“Pardon me,” the maid squeaked, scurrying off as we both held our breath.

“I spoke too soon.” He shot me an apologetic grin that looked anything but sorry.

“Let me down.” I kissed him. “Before someone else walks in. Like my mother.”

“Now that would be a party,” he teased, yanking up his pants and refastening them quickly.

I smoothed my dress, glad that I’d worn knickers today.

“How do I look?” I asked, running a hand over my hair.

“Well-fucked,” he said with a look of purely masculine arrogance.

“Anders!”

He reached over and ran a finger under my lip, wiping away my smeared lipstick. “Perfect. You look perfect as always.”

I took a step and discovered my legs were still wobbly. He caught me around the waist and held me steady.

“Do you think she’ll say anything?” I asked him.

“Probably not,” a drawling voice interrupted us, and we both turned to find Alexander standing near the door. His mouth twitched. “People around here are used to stumbling on that sort of thing.”

“Oh shit.” I clapped my hand over my mouth and tried to think of something to say—anything to say.

But Alexander strode forward and extended his hand to Anders. “Anderson. It’s good to see you.”

Anders stared at the outstretched hand for a moment.

“Don’t worry. It’s not a trick,” Alexander told him. “I’m not planning to grab you and force a crown on your head.”

Anders glanced at me, and I nodded encouragingly. He took his brother’s hand. “I’m glad to be here.”

“Well, that was painful,” I said, breaking up the tension. I slapped Anders on the back. “Don’t worry. It will get easier.”

“It looks like it will have to.” Alexander looked away, that almost grin still threatening to show itself. “If you two will excuse me, I need to find Norris.” He started to walk away and then turned back to us. “And there’s a closet hidden behind that wall panel, for future reference.”

I dropped my head on Anders’ shoulder as soon as he was gone. “Great. Now what do we do?”

“I have an idea,” he said.

Before I could ask him what it was, he marched back toward the gardens. I followed him before he did anything crazy. Everyone but Alexander was outside, chatting and visiting. My sister and Belle, each with a baby on their hips, gossiped with Edward and his new boyfriend, Tomas. Elizabeth was twirling for my parents, and Brex and Georgia were in the corner talking to Smith.

“So, what’s your plan?” I asked him, twisting my fingers together.
