“We agreed to let you pick one of us. But damn, Georgie, I think you took ten years off my life just now when I thought you were letting me go. Fuck, don’t do that to me again. I don’t care if you have my brothers, as long as you have me too.”

“What are you saying?” Zee hasn’t moved from the bookshelf, and I don’t know who he’s directing his question at, but I offer my answer.

“Georgie shares herself with all of us. It is what she wants and seems to be working out so far. New rules though.”

“What do you mean you agreed to let me pick one of you? And what is this about rules?” she asks.

“Cookie, we all wanted you from the moment you walked into our lives. We agreed to play fair and let you pick, but I can’t do that anymore. We need new rules.”

Georgie looks around, as if she can’t believe what I’m saying. The guys understand though. None of us are letting her pick just one of us, so she gets all of us.

“Like I said, the first baby is mine,” Keeper repeats, as if he already had this worked out, and we need to keep up with his plans.

“Then I want husband status.” Zeke pushes off the wall and sits in the chair next to us.

I inhale her sugary scent. “Fuck no, I want her as my wife too,” I add, and Keeper nods in agreement.

He wants Georgie as his wife too, but he wants her baby more, so he keeps silent. The baby will tie her to him forever. It’s a give and take.

“Second baby is mine. When, and if, you’re ready for that, Georgia.” Zeke gives her a smile.

I’m still not used to his face that way, and I roll my eyes at the way she smiles back. “Fine, but she sleeps in my bed,” I tell them.

“No deal, rotate or all together,” Zeke counters.

“I’ll agree to rotate,” Georgie throws out there.

I think she gets it now. This team meeting is about how we share Georgie.

“I want her to take my last name,” Zeke states.

I shake my head. “Not happening, but we rotate watching her at the diner too.”

“Agreed,” Keeper and Zeke say at the same time.

“Georgie, state your rules so we can spit shake.” I start kissing her neck, hoping it sweetens the deal, so she agrees to my wife request.

She sighs at my kisses, and I keep at them since they are having what I hope is the intended effect. “You all want me? Babies? Wife? I don’t understand.”

Hasn’t she been paying attention? We’re all dying with the thought of her as ours. I know Georgie, she thinks she’s a mess because she has a past that left her with scars and doubts. We all do. It’s why we work. Things are different now; she has the three of us. I swear on everything, I will cut anyone off at the knees who considers harming her. I know my brothers are the same. Her happiness is my new obsession. I consider the true weight of that, since killing has been my obsession for so long. Who knew this tiny, sugary-sweet woman would change my entire reason for being.

“As I said earlier, we haven’t been clear enough. Georgie, if you are questioning any of this, let me spell it out. You will have my baby and my love. As long as my heart beats, it will be for you.”

The look that passes between Keeper and Georgie at his declaration is so intimate that if I were normal, I would feel guilty for intruding. As it turns out, I only feel relief my brother loves her as much as I do.

We sit in silence waiting for her response.

Her hand trembles a second as she wipes a small tear from her cheek. I grab her hand and taste the salty drop when I place my lips against her finger, then say, “I meant what I said; those are mine to take away. Promise I’ll do my best to make them good tears, though.”

“Tell us what you want, kitten.” Keeper, ever the stiff asshole, tries to keep us on target for his team meeting.

She straightens her spine, and I place my chin on her shoulder, willing the contact to give her strength. “I want you all, with me and only me. It might not be fair, but I don’t think I can handle another woman with any of you.”

“That’s a given, go on.” Keeper links his fingers together and places them on the desk like some sort of evil mastermind devising a plan. Some of his usual bravado is gone. He needs a spit shake about the baby. Even if Georgie says no, I know my brother, he won’t give up on trying to convince her.

“Same for me,” I say.

“There will never be anyone else,” Zeke tells her.
