Ash just grunts and keeps eating me, not letting up until I'm practically climbing the tree to get away from his mouth. Only when I'm begging—a litany of pleas spilling from my lips—does he lean back on his heels, wiping his hand across the back of his mouth.

His eyes are midnight blue, his cheeks flushed. He looks like sin incarnate on his knees, staring up at me with fire in his eyes. "Goddamn," he breathes, his chest heaving. The look on his face is all devil and sin, somehow deadly and beautiful at the same damn time. "If you don't want me inside you, you better run, beautiful."

"What?"

"If you don't want me inside you, run."

I stare at him, trying to process. And then I see the glint in his eyes, and realize he wants to chase me. He wants to catch me. He wants the thrill and the chase and the wildness of it all.

My entire body ignites again.

I yank my pants up and take off, knowing there isn't a chance in hell that I'm getting away. I'm not even trying to outrun him, not really. It's the thrill of being caught that has my blood pumping wildly. It's the sound of him crashing through the trees behind me that has me ready to fall to the muddy ground just so he can do whatever he wants to me.

But I run anyway.

He catches me far sooner than I'd hoped, but I'm not really surprised. He's built like an actual God. The last time I ran, a chihuahua was chasing me. Believe me, it was more terrifying than it sounds. You try being chased through an alley by Cujo's angrier little brother.

The breath leaves my lungs in a whoosh as my feet leave the ground, Ash's arm around my waist. He manhandles me up against the nearest tree, my chest pressed to the bark, his body caging me in. We're both covered in mud, but it doesn't even matter when I feel his erection against my ass.

I sob, pressing back against him.

"You love this shit, don't you?" he growls, ripping my pants down to my ankles.

"Yes." I'm not going to lie to the man. I love everything about this.

"I know." He nips the side of my throat, his breath hot against my skin. "I read your book after you went to bed last night, Loralei. Every fucking word."

I sob his name, choking on a whimper.

One thick finger presses into me, stretching me. My head falls back against his chest, a moan tumbling from my lips.

"I was hard all night, thinking about you getting yourself off, reading the things you do." He groans, biting my shoulder. "Fucking hell, Loralei. I'm so hard for you."

"Then d-do something about it."

"Plan on it," he growls, spinning me around. Our eyes meet for a split second before he's boosting me up. My legs wrap around his waist, my arms around his shoulders. He kisses me sweetly, so much softer than I anticipated. "Let me in, sweetness."

"Ash," I whimper, writhing against the rough bark as he lines up at my entrance and then pauses, meeting my gaze again.

For a long moment, he just lingers there, watching my face. There's so much softness in his gaze, so much sweetness that it's unexpected. He just chased me down, and now he's being gentle. It's too much and not enough at the same time.

"Stay with me," he whispers, a plea in his voice that's more vulnerable than I expected. "Don't leave today."

I don't even hesitate. I can't, not when he's looking at me like his whole world might hinge on my answer. "Yes."

His forehead drops to mine as he lowers me onto his cock. My body stretches to accommodate him, my nails digging into his shoulder blades. He's so fucking big. God, he feels like he's splitting me in two in the best way.

He lowers me little by little, inch by perfect inch until I'm flush against him, his cock buried to the hilt inside me. And then he pauses, his breath shaking on his lips. "You good, baby?"

"Perfect," I whisper.

He just grins in response and kisses me again.

And then he moves, lifting me up slightly before dropping me again. I gasp, clutching at his shoulders.

"More?" he asks.

"Yes, more."
