“Come in.”
No one locked their doors in Vale Valley. What was the point?
Kellan peered around the door, then stepped inside. “Hey, Sean. I’m not trying to bug you, but I
haven’t seen you for a few days and got worried. Are you mad at me?”
Sean frowned in confusion. “Why would I be mad at you?”
Kellan shrugged. “You usually come over to visit and we haven’t seen you in a while. I thought
maybe you didn’t like what I had to say about Avi the other day.” Kellan shoved his hands in the front

Sean laughed. “That’s okay. It is about Avi. So, you don’t have to get back home right away?”
Kellan shook his head as he made his way to one of the two chairs near a small table in the
room. “No. Erik’s asleep and Vic is taking a nap with him. He was up half the night with the plumber

“That sucks. I hope it wasn’t too bad.”
“No, just annoying. But he’s talking about getting Wolfe Construction to come in and start some
renovations. Vic says the Inn is over ten years old now and could use some sprucing up.” Kellan
leaned back in his chair then propped up his feet on the second one. “And Vic will be busy building
our new place, so he won’t have time to be as involved over here.”
Kellan and Vic’s plans seemed so exciting to Sean. “Are you still hoping to move to the hills

“Oh gosh! I forgot to tell you.” Kellan grinned. “We looked at a two-acre piece of property
yesterday, and it has the most amazing view! We’re going to fence it in because we want to try for a
