Sean flattened his palms over the reverberating strings then peeked up at Avi from under his bangs.
Avi couldn’t stand it any longer. He had to touch.
“My heart is about to burst, honey. That’s the most beautiful song I’ve ever heard. Will you let
me hold you now, tell you how much I love you?”
Sean broke into a wide grin. He leaned to one side and set the guitar against the wall by the
bed, then opened his arms. Avi returned the grin then crawled across the comforter until he reached
his mate, his love.
Now he knew. As Avi held Sean close, stroked his soft hair, he no longer doubted that fate had
brought him to Vale Valley and that Sean was the one meant for him. He whispered words of love,
closed his eyes and inhaled Sean’s scent—an enticing aroma of vanilla and the mountain laurel that
grew by the lake.
We’ll have a garden of them in our yard once we get a home of our own.
Avi had gone all in. He’d fought his hunger, his need for Sean from the first moment he’d seen
him outside of Vic and Kellan’s cabin—a wide-eyed cutie who was so worried about his friend.
He’d known then what a loving and caring man Sean was.
That’s what I’ve always wished for.
It appeared fate had come through for him big time.
Avi took Sean’s mouth in a heated kiss, pressing him to the mattress then covering him with his
frame. He allowed his hands to roam, squeezing and caressing Sean, frustrated by the amount of
fabric blocking his progress. Sean had wrapped his arms around Avi too, and was clutching at his
short strands of hair, giving back with his kisses as much as he was taking.
He’s an eager little thing.
A thought struck Avi. He slowed his touches then broke the kiss. Sean regarded him with worry.
“I don’t want to stop, honey. It’s that I don’t have any condoms with me.” Smiling, he rubbed
noses with Sean. “I know how fertile you swans are in the springtime.”
Sean’s brow wrinkled. “You don’t want any hatchlings?”
“What?” He shook his head. “No, that’s not what I meant. I was thinking for your sake.”
“Didn’t you believe me?”
Avi wondered how he kept managing to upset Sean when what he actually wanted to do was
make him happy. He petted Sean’s cheek.
