a few seconds later. The company was great, the setting incredible and the night almost perfect. The
only missing ingredient for perfection? His handsome eagle Alpha.

Sean didn’t want to complain, but his abdomen had become very hard and his body felt heavier
than ever. When Avi’s uncle had examined him, he’d told him that the egg laying would likely occur
around the end of July and that he’d know it was imminent because he’d become lethargic and want to
sleep all the time.
He supposed that carrying an egg wasn’t much different than a regular pregnancy, other than the
outward signs. His belly was only slightly rounded, but unless he wore tight clothing, no one would
ever know. So, he’d begun wearing jeans one size larger than normal along with looser T-shirts.
Avi appeared with a slushie then took a seat next to him at one of the flea-market tables with an
umbrella for shade. The day had turned out to be a brutally hot one. He’d needed to take a rest while
Kellan and Vic strolled baby Erik down another aisle of goodies. So far, Avi and Vic had already had
to make one run back to Vic’s SUV with his and Kellan’s purchases. Although, Avi had found a fishing
basket and box of tackle he hadn’t been able to resist.
“They didn’t have the blue raspberry one, only the regular kind.”
Sean accepted the clear, plastic cup then pressed it to his forehead. “That’s okay. I like any
flavor. Especially the cold ones.” He trailed the cup down the side of his neck. “Ahhh. That’s nice.”
Avi chuckled then placed a protective hand over Sean’s belly. “I’m a little concerned about
how you’re feeling. We can cut this short, you know. I’m sure Kellan and Vic will understand. It’ll
probably make Vic happy. He might have to sell the Inn if Kellan’s shopping continues the way it has
been.”
Sean laughed. After expressing so many doubts over whether the flea market would be any
good, Kellan had dived right in and snapped up bargains right and left.
“No, I’m fine. I just needed to sit down for a little while.”
Avi furrowed his brow. “Well…okay. But I’ll feel better if we don’t stay much longer. One
more row then we leave?”
Sean bit his lip. “Two more? Morty said the shifters-only market happens just once a month in
spring and summer, and I’ll have laid the egg already by the time they hold the next one.”
Avi’s eyes became reflective as he narrowed them. “You sure talk about this Morty guy a lot.
