I order a beer and Tinkerbell orders a white wine. I watch as she looks at the menu trying not to admire how the dress she is wearing shows of the curve of her breast, or the way she bites her lip when she is concentrating.
“So, what do you fancy?” she asks.
I lift an eyebrow and grin. “Really?”
She sees the look in my eyes and her eyes go hooded. Fuck she is killing me. “Behave yourself,” she teases with a smile, which makes me laugh.
“Okay, okay.” I look at the menu and decide to play her at her own game. “I’m going to have the spaghetti bolognese,” I say and watch as her eyebrows shoot into her hairline.
“Really? On a first date? Isn’t that a bit risky?”
“No, why? You scared of making a mess of yourself Ashley?” She is playing into my hands.
“No,” she snaps the menu closed. “I’ll have the same. I love a challenge.”
“Oh, me to, sweetie, me too.”
The waitress appears, and we place our orders. The food here is amazing and I’m kind of looking forward to her slurping her spaghetti. We chat and then I feel my phone vibrate in my pocket. Ignoring it and a few minutes later it goes again.
“Are you okay?” Ashley asks.
“Yeah, my phone keeps going off, I’ll just turn it off,” I say, as she reaches out a hand to grab a napkin.
“It’s okay check it, it might be important.”
I nod, then slide the phone out.
What the fuck?
Tinkerbell: I’m on the most boring date!
I look up at Tinkerbell, she hasn’t left the table, am I losing my mind? “Just my brother,” I say and fire off a text.
Jackson: Really why?
I place the phone face down on the table and Tinkerbell smiles. I try and smile back but I’m so confused right now. Luckily our food comes, and I can put the thought in the back of my head.
We are both watching each other warily as we look at our respective plates of spaghetti. I pick up my fork and begin to twirl it on a spoon. Tinkerbell does the same and our eyes are glued to each other’s mouths. Everything she does is sensual even eating spaghetti. A bit of spaghetti lands on her chin. She just grins at me.
“Oops,” I laugh and lean in to wipe it away with a napkin.
We carry on and soon, some sauce lands on my nose when the spaghetti flicks up as I suck it up.
“My turn,” she laughs and wipes the tip of my nose. Soon we are both eating like we are at home and spaghetti is all over our chins and we are both laughing like loons.
The waitress takes our empty plates away and brings us the dessert menu. I watch her looking through the menu, I’m hoping that she is dessert.
Tinkerbell: He eats like an animal!
I slam the phone down and look at her. What the hell is going on? How can she be texting me when she is sitting there? I can see her hands.
“Everything okay?” she asks and I’m sure I can see a smile on her face.
“Yeah,” I mumble completely preoccupied. I look around waiting for a TV crew to jump out, but I’m the one that started this, so it can’t be that.
Looking down at my phone, I rub my forehead, then looking back up at Tinkerbell, I see her friend sitting down next to her.
“Hey Jackson, sorry to trash your date, but my girl took my phone by accident.” She looks at Tinkerbell and they both start laughing.
