He actually didn’t like Star. She was a good mother when it suited her and at the same time a horrible mother, or at least he figured she was, seeing as most often the kids were taken care of by someone else, usually his mother.
Minutes passed, and he finally calmed down when his father arrived. There was no sign of his mother. He was glad, because right now, he needed to talk about club stuff.
“What is it, son?” Maverick asked.
“I want to vote Venom out of the club.”
His father threw back his head and started to laugh. “That isn’t going to happen.”
“He doesn’t deserve his patch.” He wanted him gone, and that way, he would hunt him down and fucking kill him. Venom was nothing more than an animal.
“It’s not going to happen. That man deserves his patch.”
“He killed men for hurting dogs.”
“I happen to love dogs,” Maverick said. “And he always has. Just this time, he didn’t realize there was an operation going down, which is why he was caught.” Maverick shrugged. “We’ve got a couple of our boys in prison. You want me to start making it a habit of getting rid of them as well?”
“Fuck. He’s living with Morwenna, for fuck’s sake. He’s moving in on my wife.”
Maverick stared at him.
“That’s got to mean something. There’s got to be some kind of biker code. She’s my wife.”
“And she has made it known she wants a divorce. I’ve got the papers in my office for you to sign.”
“I’m not going to do it. Morwenna is mine.”
“Did you go and see Star before you left?” Maverick asked.
He didn’t like this.
“What does that have to do with anything?” he asked.
“It has everything to do with everything.” And Maverick shook his head. “You can’t even keep it in your pants long enough to win her back. You say you love Morwenna and you want to win her back, and you’re still fucking Star.”
“She’s ... I can’t help myself.”
Bolt cried out as he fell to the ground. His father, or more like his president, had hit him around the back of his head.
“You can’t help yourself? Do you know how you sound? You sound weak to me, and I don’t like weak men. Divorce Morwenna and give that girl some fucking peace, she deserves it. As for you, I gave you time. You leave her alone. Do you understand me? I do not need to make an enemy out of Gus Graves.” With that, his father gave him one last lingering, disgusted look.
It was the first time, in a very long time that his father had hit him. Although, he got the feeling his president hit him, not his father.

Morwenna loved taking the food to the clubhouse. It felt good. It felt right. The guys, the old ladies, and the other club women were happy as well.
Diesel had already picked her up and twirled her through the air, as had King and several others. She had to ask them to put her down, because she started to feel a little sick. She loved that they were happy with the food.
The past two days, she’d been cooking and baking up a storm. The ranch was so inspiring, and she also happened to love tending her vegetable garden. Venom wasn’t around all the time as he had jobs to do for the club. Again, from her time with Bolt, she didn’t ask any questions.
Her father had been to visit her a lot, as he didn’t agree with her being alone.
Venom returned every single night, and he’d already given her a copy of his bedroom key from the clubhouse in case of emergencies. She figured she’d go and stay at her parents’ if it got bad.
“It’s good to see you back here,” Storm said, pulling her in for a hug.
Morwenna smiled, but she still hadn’t gotten over the fact her mother-in-law and friend lied to her. She was not going to rock the boat, though. She always loved helping around the clubhouse.
