“Someone likes what he sees,” Xanthe mutters, linking her arm with mine. “Ignore him tonight. Don’t give him any of your attention.”

I don’t like playing games, but I also don’t like rejection, so that seems like a fair bet.

“Elena, let’s teach you how to play pool,” Meredith calls out, walking over to the free pool table.

I can feel the weight of Suit’s gaze still on me like a physical touch, but he doesn’t make a move to come over. He looks sexy in a black shirt, his sleeves folded up to his forearms, showing off his ink. He’s wearing his leather cut over it, with worn jeans and leather boots. His perfectly tousled hair makes me want to run my fingers through it.

He’s extremely good-looking and so out of my league.

“Stubborn fool,” I hear Ora mutter under her breath.

The women show me how to play pool, and the twins come up and give me a few pointers.

Haze gets up on the stage and sings a few songs, and I can’t look away. His voice is deep, husky, and… wow. Lu is a lucky woman. Another drink appears in my hand every time I finish one, and before I know it, I’m a little more than tipsy, and all is right in the world. In fact, I can’t remember ever being so happy.

At least until I look back at Suit and notice he has one of the new club girls pawing at his side. She’s blonde, with a big smile, and even bigger boobs. Haze pulls Lu away for a dance, and Skull comes and steals Isla. Lore lifts Atiana onto the bar and makes out with her.

“You know,” Xanthe murmurs, following my line of sight. “If he doesn’t want anything to do with you, maybe we should find someone else for you.”

“Yeah,” Meredith agrees, scanning the crowd. “You need to flirt with some hot guy that doesn’t live in this clubhouse.”

“Maybe even kiss him,” Xanthe adds.

Too drunk to filter my words, I tell them, “My first kiss was at my wedding, and that wasn’t even a proper kiss.”

It’s only been one night, and I’m not wearing my wedding band. That has to be a new record.

They both stare at me with wide eyes. “Okay, you are definitely getting a kiss from someone.”

“What about Pyro? He’s a nice guy,” Meredith suggests.

“He’s already on Bones’ shit list. I don’t think it’s smart to put him on Suits’ too,” Xanthe says, then points to a tall biker who is leaning against the wall next to the pole room, scrolling on his phone. “Who is he? He looks hot.”

“And big enough to take a few punches.” Ora smirks. “He’s from the Dawson chapter. I think his name is Bear.”

“Come on, let’s go dance over there,” Xanthe says, taking my hand in hers and leading the way.

“Can we go into the pole room?” I ask, my eyes widening. “I want to see what’s in there.”

The women share a look, and Xanthe’s brown eyes suddenly take on a scheming glint. “You know what, that’s a great idea. Maybe Bear will join us.”

“You won’t even make it inside that door before Ghost grabs you.” Ora laughs.

Xanthe glances back to the bar, locking eyes with Ghost. “Shit, he’s already watching us. Hurry.”

The three of us stop in front of Bear, and Ora smiles up at him. “Bear, right? I’m Ora, War’s old lady.”

His dark eyes scan over all of us, his brow furrowing. “Ora, you trying to get me killed?”

He really is handsome in a rugged way, with thick, dark hair, tanned skin, and a sexy beard.

“No, we wanted you to meet our friend, Elena,” she introduces, pushing me forward a little. “It’s her first clubhouse party.”

I guess no one is counting my wedding reception or whatever that was.

“Hello, nice to meet you.” I smile up at him.

His eyes slowly rake over me from head to toe and back again, and then he grins. “You look like a good girl trying to be bad for the night.”
