Suddenly, Guy’s there, yanking Kota back, making her feet slip out of her sandals and over the gravel.
“Motherfucker.”
Two strides and I’m at Kota’s side, lifting her up by the waist and handing her off to Dex with a, “Get her in the truck.”
She’s nothing but flailing limbs as she’s hauled away.
“Stay out of this, you—”
I don’t hesitate to shut Guy the fuck up with a right hook, the feel very different with bare knuckles.
While he collapses to the ground, Lisann screams.
Guiding her away, Tina says, “Let’s give him some room to work.”
Work? I want Guy dead. Pain isn’t enough. Bleeding won’t do. I need carnage. Pure fucking carnage.
Dropped down, I start raining hammerfists down on him, landing ruthless blow after ruthless blow with the side of my fist.
I vaguely hear my name but I’m too far gone to recognize the voice.
Over and over again, I bash Guy’s face in until I’m tackled from the back.
I take a swing before I even see who it is. Dex. Thank fuck it’s Dex. And that he dodges the blow.
On top of me, my friend tries pushing me down, but I keep fighting.
He shouts, “This isn’t the fucking cage! You’re gonna kill him!”
“I don’t care!” I roar, the animal in me taking over.
“Care for her!”
Her?
That gets me to stop.
He just shakes his head and says, “Your girl needs you.”
My girl. Mine.
Slowly, I lift my red, shaking hands in surrender.
“You better hope you don’t get a text tonight,” he growls as he pulls me to my feet.
“I got at least another ten rounds in me.”
“So does Kota.”
“Where is she?”
“Right where you told me to put her.”
Walking past Guy, we glance down at his groaning, writhing body.
Not dead but probably wishes he was. His face is fucked.
To add insult to injury, I spit on him.
