Sera takes pity on us, and says, “The clitoris.”
After considering that for a minute, I snort. I’ll be goddamned. She’s right.
When I see Guy still wearing the same dumbfuck expression, I ask, “You know what a clit is, right, Guy?”
Kota’s knuckles whiten as she bends her fingers, pushing the tips into her hairline.
Not too worried about her hair now, is she?
“Yes, I know what it is.”
“You know where it is?”
He sneers in answer.
“What about how to work one?” I can’t help but tack on.
Kota slams her palms on the table. “Can we stop? Please? If you two are in need of an anatomy lesson, open a book.”
All right, Kota. No need to get your wetter-than-usual panties in a bunch.
“I don’t need one,” I remark with a shrug.
The same can’t be said for Guy.
“Kota, was that really necessary?”
As soon as Guy focuses on the matriarch of this sideshow attraction, Sera discreetly gestures to her daughter.
Guy immediately leans into Kota’s side, whispering to her.
I watch Kota’s eyes widen…at her fingers still spread on the tabletop. There’s red under two of the nails.
She curls her fingers, tucking them into fists before slowly removing her hands from the table altogether.
“Besides, if you’re going to be working in a male-centric field, you need to get used to this kind of talk.”
Kota pulls away from Guy, telling her mom, “If men sat around talking about clits, I’m pretty sure more of them would know how to find one.”
Sera raises an eyebrow while cocking her head.
My dad and I both nod. That’s valid.
The only person who doesn’t give some form of agreement is Guy and I think that is telling.
Poor baby stepsis. No wonder she let a stranger scratch her kitty cat.
Kota’s eyes collide with mine and I realize I’m staring.
I don’t stop, but… You know. I’m aware now.
While I have her full attention, I bring my right hand up and inhale the palm—exactly where her clit was just yesterday.
Her own sudden intake of air does nothing to hide that blush overtaking her cheeks.
“Second course, please,” Sera calls.
Kota ignores me the rest of the meal, and when her hands reappear to use her utensils, there’s no red on them.
