Everyone stopped moving, talking, fucking breathing, as I cocked my head to the left.

I wanted to say that I couldn’t believe what he’d just said. That wasn’t shocking, though. It was his tone that really pissed me off.

He was concerned about how fast I’d taken my mates, and that was understandable, but…

“You don’t get to say shit like that just because you're drunk, D. Keep your mouth shut about our business if you can’t be nice, or I’ll mute you my godsdamn self. I inadvertently learned that nifty fucking trick from one of my mates,” I spat.

Dolyn started to say something else, but I cut him the fuck off. “Don’t, Dolyn. Go to bed. You can apologize tomorrow. I get what you were trying to say, but that doesn’t excuse you being a dick about it.”

He grumbled under his breath as he stepped out of the kitchen. When he was gone, I placed my elbows on the table and rubbed at my forehead. My mood had been souring since Jack and I had talked with Lucy, and Dolyn had trashed it further. But I wouldn’t let it last.

I eyed my guys, a small smile playing at my lips. “I want to give you guys the skull tracking marks like I gave York. We were waiting, but I don’t think we should wait anymore. I want to give Hyde and Dolyn one before we leave too.”

Hyde perked up, grinning at me. “Oh, like the one Jack and Grim have?”

Nodded my head and scrunching my nose up as I tried not to think about why she was looking at their feet, I explained, “It’s gonna hurt a little bit.”

York snorted, and Vaughn groaned as he asked, “Why would you tell us that?”

“Can’t ye just lie about it?” Palmer complained.

“You’ve already seen York get his. You know how he reacted. For Devil’s sake. You have a big ass tattoo on your back! It can’t hurt worse than that,” I claimed.

“That didn’t hurt,” Vaughn quipped, rolling his icy blue eyes at me.

Briggs titled his head, acknowledging Vaughn’s words as truth. “Are you going to heal ours too?” he inquired.

Novak hummed his agreement, his golden eyes swirling in amusement. “Or were you just going to let us suffer?”

“Thinking about letting you whiny assholes suffer,” I muttered, rolling my eyes at them.

“Bunch of bitches,” Hyde commented, giggling when my guys glared at her.

“My money is on Hyde,” I murmured to Jack and Grim. “One round a piece; she beats all six of them.” They both nodded, silently agreeing.

Hyde assessed the guys one by one. “Two rounds with the fae, one round with the others, since I can’t kill them.” She laughed at their stunned expressions, turning to me as she got us back on track. “Can I pick out my symbol?”

I cackled at her. “Yeah, Hyde. You can pick.”

“I want to be a diamond,” she wistfully declared.

“Are ya ever gonna tell me why I’m a tornado?” Palmer whispered in my ear, the heat of his body and his lyrical voice threatening to send shivers down my spine.

I let the back of my head hit his abs as I gazed up at him. “No. I told you, if you guess then I’ll confirm or deny, but I’m not going to explain it.”

He smirked down at me, nodding. “It’s because of my vortex, isn’t it?”

“Nope.” I grinned, winking at him as he gnawed at his bottom lip while he thought.

Hyde wiggled in her chair. “I’m ready. How do we do it?”

“Walk outside with me. Let’s see if Pete is out there. I need to swap marks with him, so I can show you what I’m going to do then,” I suggested with a shrug. “But you won’t have to do anything except sit there.”

My guys grumbled, and Hyde rolled her eyes at them. “Sit. Stay. Good boys.”

“I’m a wolf, not a dog,” Briggs grouched before pointing at my vampire. “But he’s a dog. Just not the kind that barks.”

I snorted with laughter, loving how easily everyone got along. As Hyde and I walked outside, Novak threw an apple at my burly shifter.
