“You don’t count,” Vaughn told him.
“Neither do you, Fae,” York added.
“I’m staying out of this conversation,” I claimed, shaking my head. “My reviews are biased. But I agree with Stone. You’re all solid eights.”
Palmer narrowed his eyes at me as he grinned. “Fuck off.”
I held my arms out as I shrugged. “I’m the only ten in this house.”
“On the murder board,” he deadpanned.
“That’s the only score that counts.” I smirked at him. “And you love me for it.”
“That’s beside the point,” my mage argued.
“It always is,” I said, rolling my eyes.
The guys wandered upstairs, and Novak got antsy. He wiggled around before closing his laptop and pushing everything out of reach. He was anticipating a fight.
“Why is there an arm on my fucking bed?” Vaughn snarled.
“What?” my druid shouted back to be obnoxious, but his footsteps moved across the second floor. “Oh, wow. That’s an actual arm.”
“What the fuck else would it be, York?” my fae snapped.
“I don’t know,” he defended. “A prop or something.”
Vaughn’s exasperated sigh was loud and clear. “There’s blood on my bed. Take it. Take it.”
York chuckled all the way down the stairs, carrying Vaughn’s quilt and sheets.
“Do you need a hand with that?” Novak inquired, grinning at my druid.
He dipped his head toward the bundle he was carrying. “I’ve got a spare arm. Thanks, though.”
“Where the fuck did that come from?” Vaughn demanded.
“Sloane did it,” my vampire quickly answered.
“I didn’t kill that one,” I snarked, narrowing my eyes at him. “You did.”
He scoffed. “When?”
“Novak ripped her head off and tucked it under his arm as he talked to Onyx and her guys,” I calmly explained to my fae as I crossed my arms.
“You’ll never guess who we ran into today,” my vampire exclaimed, leaning up as he waited for Vaughn to guess.
My fae glared as he quipped, “Someone else you fucked during your many excursions into the unknown?”
“I don’t think so.” Novak scratched at his jaw. “Hey… Who was that bounty hunter we were running from in the spring? The tiny one with the black hair.”
“Olive Blackwood?” Vaughn asked, his complete attention on my vampire now. “She owns Lost and Found Bounty Hunting.”
“Mmm.” Novak nodded. “That one. She almost caught us.”
“Me,” Vaughn corrected. “She would have let you go.”
My vampire huffed in irritation. “I wasn’t going to leave you.”
