Sleeping on air mattresses at Jack’s is hell, but being able to reach out and grab Harper and hold her in my arms is worth it. Even if I can’t do much about it except hold her. We stayed in all weekend, watching movies and playing games. Not the fun kind of games we usually play, but just good, wholesome fun. Including coloring with Lucy.

It’s Sunday evening, and I’m home for family dinner. Apparently, my parents decided two maniacs who kidnapped students being out on house arrest was a good enough reason to return. It also means I don’t have to worry about protecting Ava as much with our parents being home.

Stopping in my bedroom, I grab a few things so I’m ready to head back to Jack’s immediately after. Jack and Harper are my priority right now. Anything happens to them and I’ll burn this whole town to the ground.
