‘Nope, it’s not you,’ Dana said. ‘The temperature shot up thirty degrees the second they appeared. It always does. God, imagine if Daddy Devlin joined them! Oscar was right. Three Devlin brothers is an ultimate fantasy, but four? Damn.’

My lips twitched as I thought about how lucky I was to be dating Daddy Devlin. If Dana and Joe knew he was my mystery man, they’d wet themselves with excitement.

‘I couldn’t cope!’ Joe said. ‘The last time he was up here, I nearly melted! That reminds me. You never said what Daddy Devlin wanted when he dragged you away from us a few months ago.’ Joe faced me. ‘When he summoned you, there was so much demanding big dick energy flying around, I half expected to find you pinned against the lift whilst he fucked you senseless!’

‘Wh-what?’ My breath caught in my throat. ‘Ha!’ I said a little too dramatically.

‘Imagine!’ Dana chuckled. ‘He could pin me against the lift or even a dustbin anytime he wanted.’

This conversation was skating way too close for comfort.

I glanced at my watch again.

‘I hate to do this, but I need to go. My boyfriend will be waiting for me and I’m already late. Shall we get drinks next week after the event? Or maybe on Wednesday once we’ve recovered?’

‘Yes! I’ll need to decompress,’ Joe said.

‘It’s a date,’ Dana said. ‘Have fun with Loverboy!’

‘Will do!’ I said, relieved that I’d successfully changed the subject. ‘Oh, wait. I need to get that round of drinks I promised. Same again?’

‘Yep!’ they chorused.

‘Coming right up!’ I headed to the bar where the Devlin brothers were standing.

‘What can I get you?’ Phil, one of the barmen asked me.

‘Another Piña Colada for Joe and a Cosmo for Dana please.’ I handed over my card.

‘You’re not having a drink?’ Heath asked.

‘No. I have to go.’ My eyes darted behind the bar.

‘Oh? Got any exciting plans this weekend?’ Heath tilted his head with curiosity.

‘Er, just chilling with a… friend.’ I tried to play it cool. ‘Is it okay if I pay now, Phil?’ I asked, desperate to get away before Heath asked any more questions.

‘Sure.’

I tapped my card on the reader, then put my purse back in my handbag.

Once again Heath’s eyes fixated on the bag.

‘I’d better go. Have a good weekend!’ I waved to Heath, Seb and Oscar before darting into the lift.

Did he suspect something?

No.

It was just my imagination.

Of course Heath didn’t know Blake and I were together.

Everything was totally fine.

Wasn’t it?
