He drove me higher, taking away any chance to think. His tongue circled and pressed. One finger slid inside me, then another, stretching me with careful purpose while his mouth turned ruthless. The pressure built until I could feel nothing but him and the ache tightening deep inside me.

His hungry growl vibrated against me.

That was enough.

The climax tore through me. My back arched. My thighs closed around his head, and his name left me in a broken cry. He held me through every pulse, his mouth gentling only when the pleasure became too sharp. Even then he kissed the inside of my thigh, once, twice, as if he could not bear to stop touching me.

I lay trembling beneath the medical lights.

Corvan rose slowly. His mouth was wet. His dark eyes had gone nearly black.

“I have wanted to see that for four hundred and twelve days,” he said.

I swallowed. “You counted?”

“I counted everything.” He reached for the fastening of his pants.

I sat up at once and pushed his hands away. “My turn.”

The muscles in his abdomen tightened as I opened the uniform trousers. I shoved them over his hips, and the sight of him stole the last of my breath. He was thick, hard, and already slick at the tip. His size should have made me hesitate. Instead, need surged back with a force that bordered on pain.

I wrapped my hand around him the best I could. Corvan’s eyes closed and the mark at my neck flared white hot as if it had a mind of its own. His head tipped back, and every muscle in his body went rigid. “Gina.”

There was a warning in my name.

I stroked him once, slow and firm. “I'm going to—” I was trying to think of something seductive and sexy to say. Two things I generally was not.

He caught my wrist before I could lower my mouth to him. “No. Not this time.”

“Why?” He didn't want me to?

“Because I am one touch from losing control, and I need to be inside you when I do.” The blunt confession made me clench my thighs in a futile effort to find some relief. His nostrils flared.

Then his pants were on the floor, his boots kicked aside, and he was kissing me again. I tasted myself on his tongue. He lifted me higher onto the table and came down over me, taking most of his weight on his forearms. The movement pulled at his wounded side.

I touched the sealed skin. “Your injury.”

“Will survive.”

“Corvan.”

He turned his head and kissed my palm. “If I damage it, you may lecture me for the entire mission.”

“I’ll do that anyway.”

“I know.” His mouth curved briefly. “It is one of the things I missed before I had ever truly met you.”

My heart lurched toward him. I shoved the feeling down and pulled him closer. “Then stop talking.”

He settled between my thighs. The blunt head of his cock pressed against me, and both of us went still.

This was the edge.

Corvan searched my eyes. “Last chance to tell me no.”

“Last chance to run from me,” I countered.

His expression hardened with decision. “I am done running.”
