“Good.”
Wyatt looks at me. “How much longer on the original sentence?”
“Sentence?” I ask.
“Marriage.”
“Asshole.”
He laughs. “What? Couple more months and you’re a free woman.”
Dane’s hand tightens on my hip. “She’s not going anywhere.”
I look up at him. “You’re pretty confident.”
He pulls me against him. “Am I wrong?”
I let him wait.
His eyes narrow.
I smile. “No.”
His expression relaxes. “Thought so.”
“God, you’re arrogant.”
“You like me.”
“Debatable.”
“You love me.”
“Unfortunately.”
He kisses my temple.
Wyatt makes a gagging sound. “Remember when you two hated each other?”
“We still do,” I say.
Dane takes a drink. “Every day.”
“Good. You’re disgusting otherwise.” Wyatt walks away.
Then, I reach into my bag.
“Speaking of freedom.” I hold up the folded papers.
His expression changes as he takes the pages. It’s the original marriage contract.
Separate finances. Separate sleeping accommodations. NO SEX underlined twice.
His mouth twitches at that one. “That provision didn’t hold up.”
“Terrible legal drafting.”
“Your addition.”
