“I was young.”
“Four months ago.”
“I’ve matured.”
His eyes move down the page. “What are you doing with this?”
I take it back, then tear it in half.
Dane’s smile disappears.
I tear it again. “I don’t want another eight months.”
His entire body goes still. For approximately two seconds, I let him suffer.
“I want the rest.”
Dane stares at me. “The rest?”
“All of it.”
His eyes search mine. “No contract?”
“No.”
“No end date?”
“No.”
“No separate bedrooms?”
I laugh. “Definitely no.”
His hand closes around the back of my neck. “Say it again.”
“I want the rest.”
“With me?”
“With you.”
“Sure?”
I smile. “I’m sure.”
He kisses me before I can say anything else. One arm wraps around my waist and lifts me against him as his mouth takes mine.
Someone whistles.
Ellie cheers.
Then Wyatt’s voice cuts across the lawn. “Get a room!”
Dane bends, catches me behind the knees, and lifts me into his arms.
I shriek. “Put me down.”
“No.”
