I wrap my arms around his neck as he carries me toward the lodge.
Behind us, Devil’s Peak erupts into laughter.
I bury my face against his shoulder. “You’re impossible.”
“You married me.”
“For a hundred thousand dollars.”
“Best money I ever spent.”
I lift my head. “You know you don’t own me, right?”
He stops at the porch. His eyes meet mine. “Yeah.”
“Good.”
He kisses me once, then smiles. “But you’re still mine.”
I smile back. “Only because I choose to be.”
His arms tighten around me. “That’s the only way I want you.”
Then my sexy, outlaw husband carries me inside.
And for once, I don’t argue.
