My back was warm and it’s like I could physically feel the heat of his stare.
“Beside me.” Willow calls out, and I walk over to the open spot.
Other people file in and we are all up against the walls, strapped in with a buckle.
I look up at the sky as I try to calm my breathing.
The sun was setting even more now, and the sky was a burnt orange color. I knew time was ticking until the haunted carnival turned on, and I was filled with regret that I wouldn’t be able to experience it.
I look at the door, and see a few more people litter in and get strapped on.
More steps sound out and I watch as Sebastian walks in the room. My heart skips a breath as I watch Sullivan enter as well.
Sullivan fits him perfectly.
They were both almost the exact same height and besides the build differences, they could be identical. Both were handsome, where Sullivan had a more rugged appearance. They had to be related. Brothers maybe? Cousins?
Both guys stand near the middle and look around. Checking the safety and belts, I’m assuming.
“Alright listen up!” Sebastian calls out and gets everyone’s attention.
We all snap our heads to him.
“Do not crouch or sit.”
“No leaning off the wall.”
“Keep your arms and legs inside your own space.”
“Do any of that dumb shit, you could be banned.”
“Or worse.”
We all basically lean in as he speaks.
“You could fly out of here and dismember yourself.” he finishes.
His face was completely serious and I start to get worried until he cracks a smile.
“All jokes guys.” he says with his hands up.
He said it, but something tells me, he didn’t mean it as a joke.
I look over at Sullivan and couldn’t help but wait to hear what he has to say.
He just stood there, tall and imposing as Sebastian did all the talking.
My eyes were drawn to him.
Back at home, I never talked to guys, let alone was enamored by one before like this. I mean, I haven’t even heard him speak.
“Now, let’s do this shit.” Seb yells out and they both leave from the door they came in from.
I watch as they leave and my palms get sweaty when Sullivan looks right at me briefly before leaving as well.
“Girl I am so excited!” Willow calls out to me and I’m back in reality.
I grin at her and lean against the wall.
