When The Fair Goes Dark

Haunted Hospital.

Haunted Farmhouse.

All things that were turned off and dark only a few minutes ago.

Near the front, the girl who sold me the ticket now stood at the entrance in a blood soaked nightgown, her head tilted at an angle that made my neck hurt just by looking at her.

I look back forward, and notice the clown is gone again.

Shaking my head, I start to the mirror maze again.

Fog from fog machines melt on the floor as I step and it makes the ground a lot harder to see and walk.

I dial Willow up again.

Nothing.

I stood in front of the Mirror Maze and looked at the now dark and scary looking thing that looked cheerful and happy only recently.

A man stood at the front with a button up completely unbuttoned and blood streaming down his body.

His face was painted using white and black paint.

No one was in line.

But, I swore that there were people over here.

He doesn’t move when he sees me.

I stand there, not knowing what to do.

There was a sign that says “SHOW YOUR STAMP”.

Okay, he could’ve literally said that.

I raise my hand to him.

He finally glances down before he reaches his hand out.

“Phone.”

Phone?

I look at him confusingly before I look for another sign maybe that I missed.

“Waiver.”

Shit, the fucking waiver that I didn’t read.

How was I supposed to reach Willow?

But maybe that’s why she isn’t answering.

Reluctantly, I give him my phone and move forward.

The Mirror Maze seemed like one of the safest places to start anyways since we came through earlier.

Mirrors.
