“Yeah, well… no. He did throw me to the floor, but he didn’t take me. He taught me MMA.”
“Uh… how was that?”
“Torturous.”
“As torturous as this talk, where you’re giving me nothing?”
“Pretty much.”
“Cil!”
“Fine… but no googly eyes when you see us together in public. I don’t want Knox to feel pressured or something.”
“I promise, no googly eyes. Now talk!”
“The first day, nothing happened; we just teased each other, then we kissed, and then grinding, frotting, a bunch of handjobs, four blow jobs,” I say, and the more I list, the wider Leo’s mouth opens in shock.
“Wow, Cil… you really used your time wisely.”
“Yeah, well, when your crush gives you a limited time to touch him, you don’t waste any time.”
“I don’t understand the limited time thing. It’s obvious you both like each other.”
“It’s because of his mom.”
“She hates you?”
“…A rich man murdered her.”
“Oh, my God… I’m so sorry.” Leo gasps. “Who?”
“I don’t know. Which is why I need your help finding the name of that man.”
“Okay. What do you know?”
“It was sixteen years ago that her death had to do with a rich asshole, and that he got away with it.”
“Anything else?”
“After Alistair told me about what happened, I managed to dig a bit more, and he said when Knox found his mother, she still had the eagle and crown mark from the man’s signet ring from where he backhanded her.”
“An eagle and a crown?” Leo’s eyes go wild. “So he’s an Ivy League or from a family?”
“You think your cop cousin can find which one of the houses or schools has that symbol?”
“Absolutely. I’ll tell River to check it out and let you know what they find.”
“Thanks, Leo,” I say, lifting my tequila shot toward him.
“No need to thank me.” He clinks my glass, and we take the shot. “Do you want the name, or do you want as much proof as you can to have him arrested?”
“Get everything you can, but don’t have him arrested yet. First, I’m going to make him regret his entire life.”

Morning sunlight filters through the curtains of the main estate, looking beautiful and calm, but there is nothing warm or relaxing about this damn meeting.
My great-uncle has already left for Ibiza, and Astrid has arrived.
