“Yes, I promise you,” Knox laughs. “I will see you tomorrow as soon as I am free.”
As soon as I am free?!
Uggh… The pain is so strong that it makes me want to vomit.
Then my agony morphs into fury.
I am angry that he has the nerve to rob me of my freedom, stress me out, mess with my head, and break my heart without a single care in the world.
Screw this.
Screw him.
I don’t care about the guests. I don’t care about the stalker bracelet, the rules, or the stupid contract. I am officially done playing by his fucking rules.
“Hey, Cil!” Leo waves, and Knox turns to look at me.
I step between him and the Korean beauty, raise my hand, and smack the man’s fingers off Knox’s chest.
“What the—” Knox starts, and his shocked expression tells me he had no idea I’d even left the hot tub.
Was he that distracted by this man?
“Cillian?”
“Shut up,” I growl, wrap my fingers around his wrist, and drag him away from the man, pulling him into the empty halls of the main house.
CHAPTER 7
KNOX
One hour earlier…
What the hell is happening…?
And I’m not talking about the party. I know exactly why this party is happening… the asshole planned it just to push my buttons.
No, what I’m confused about is why seeing him in that tub, surrounded by people flirting with him, is bothering me so damn much.
He is everything I hate… entitled, stubborn, and rich.
I can’t stand the man.
So, of course, I shouldn’t care what he does, or who he talks to, or who he smiles at…
But I do.
And it is driving me insane.
It’s been almost a week since I went to his room at night and made him cum. The second he moaned my name, I knew going there was a colossal mistake.
But I still went.
At the time, I naively assumed the fallout would have to do with my job. In reality, it affected me in ways I could never have anticipated, like how now I can’t close my eyes at night without picturing him coming apart in my arms.
How I can’t go a single day without wanting to touch him, to do it all over again.
Putting the tracking bracelet on him gave me peace of mind professionally, but emotionally, I’m spiraling out of control.
