Ha…! I can’t help but laugh at myself.

For days, Cillian has done everything he can to push my buttons and drive me crazy.

Yet he has absolutely no idea that he doesn’t need to try… just being near me is the worst kind of torture.

A fucking torture I seem to crave.

“Oh, em, gee, Cil!” a man giggles, pressing his tanned body against Cillian’s side.

Get your fucking hands off him…

The thought burns as I glare at the tanned guy with stupid baby-blue eyes, practically drooling all over Cillian.

The man leans closer, whispering into his ear… probably hoping to get lucky. But the idiot has no idea Cillian isn’t even listening.

His eyes and his attention are locked on me.

I feel my expression twist into a frown and instantly force it away.

I don’t want to show this man how much power he has over me.

Fuck that.

But I’m too late… because Cillian smiles, pleased with himself.

Damn it…

Keeping his gray-blue eyes locked on mine, he curls his arm around the guy’s waist and pulls him closer.

“Hey, Knoxy!”

I turn around, my body relaxing just a fraction at the sight of Damián, Alexios, and Law heading my way.

“Thank God you guys came.”

“No worries, hermano. Glad you called.” Damián looks around at the crowd, the drinks, the DJ, and the damn buffet bar and chuckles. “This is insane… I don’t think we’ve been to a party this crazy since the day I met my man.”

“Speak for yourself,” Alexios says, taking a drink from a tray. “I was locked in a van.”

“You are always locked in a van, mate,” Law laughs, patting him on the back.

“Yeah, but only because all of you would die without my incredible instructions.”

“All right, Navi,” I say, referencing one of his favorite video games. “Thank you for assisting us with your knowledge.”

“That is…” Alexios places a hand over his heart, looking deeply moved, “…the most beautiful thing anyone has ever said to me.”

Damián bursts out laughing. “Isn’t it hilarious how Alexios is our fairy when he’s the only one in Harknett who’s straight?”

“Wow, Dami.” Law chokes on his mocktail. “I am utterly shocked no one has sued you or smacked you yet, given your dreadful sense of humor.”

“I have been stabbed and shot at… Does that count?”

“I don’t get it… what is the occasion for this party?” Alexios scrolls through his intel on Cillian on his ridiculously oversized phone. “I thought his birthday was in December.”

“Don’t bother. He’s doing it to piss me off,” I growl, my eyes locked on the hot tub, where yet another guy has joined the fan club. “This entire party is one big ‘fuck you’ because I put a leash on him.”

Cillian lifts his glass of red wine toward us in a toast, and the iron bracelet on his wrist gleams under the lights.
