“I mean you can’t be skipping meals on my watch.”
“I’m not skipping meals. I have to pump once we’re done, then I’ll probably grab something after I pick my baby up from day care.”
“Pump what? Gas?” he asked.
“No. I’m breastfeeding that greedy son of mine. I make sure to keep him stashed up.”
He chuckled. “Well, since you have plans, can you bring me something back?”
“What do you want?”
“I was just messing with you. I just needed to make sure that you weren’t starving yourself.”
“Have you ordered the radiator? I need to know how much I need to come up with.”
He shook his head. “They wouldn’t tell me.”
“How are you buying something without knowing the price?”
“Everybody ain’t able,” he stated.
I shook my head. “A lie don’t care who tells it.”
“You have called me a liar and a con man in the span of a few days. I’m about to be offended.”
“Well, you called me a bad mother.”
“I did not!” he disputed.
“You said my son didn’t know how to act because he didn’t have a daddy at home.”
He shrugged. “That’s not the same as saying you were a bad mother.”
“No, that’s just saying that I either couldn’t get or keep a man.”
“Let me make it up to you,” he offered.
“How do you plan on doing that?”
“Let me take you and the boys out later. I promised Vick that we would get pizza.”
“I don’t know about all that. I don’t need them fighting and fussing the whole time.”
“I think it will be good for them. I want to make sure he knows that just because he had a disagreement with someone, it doesn’t mean that they can’t still be friends.”
“I agree. I’m working on Theo’s attitude and making sure he doesn't think his little behind is a bully.”
“I’m thinking about putting Vick in little league. Somebody brought some flyers up here a few days ago about sign-ups. He needs something to channel some of his energy. I have never seen anybody that can stay on go from sunup until the wee hours of the morning.”
“I wish I had time to even think about something like that. I hate to deprive him of doing things because I’m always trying to work.” I shook my head.
“I could help with picking him up and shit if you decide to sign him up. I’ll bring you a flyer if you want.”
“We’re slowing down. I’ll step inside and grab one.”
“Bring me another one of those hot chocolates when you come.”
“That was not hot chocolate.” I giggled.
