I like it when he’s in authoritative mode.
“Yes, sir.” I untangle the cord and toss the bell into the snow. He mirrors my movements. I lean against the cold wall, cool water seeps beneath my jacket.
Christian moves closer, standing close enough that the heat of him moves into me. His hand comes to rest against my cheek, thumb brushing lightly across the cut on my arm.
“You’re bleeding,” he murmurs.
“I noticed.” Sizzling need sears across my fingertips as I reach up to trace a path along his face. Memorizing the contours, scars and soft places where I’d like to kiss.
“You embrace danger like a second skin.”
If I hadn’t, I wouldn’t have survived this long.
“Take me...right here. Before we have to plunge into the unknown. Take me one last time. Fuck me into damnation,” I say, surprised at the challenge in my voice. We would be alone for a few more hours. Why not?
His breath falters. Something shifts. Those rich, copper eyes darken, giving me all of his unspoken desire. They trail across my damp locks, down to the curve of my neck, to the hand still gripping his tightly. There is a tangle of possession and fear just waiting to be let free.
“Scared now?” This new me, I think I like her.
Outside, the storm swallows the woods. Inside the cave, it feels like only the two of us exist.
“Marisa,” he says, voice low, “why does it feel like all I’ve known is shifting with your presence?”
“You tell me, you said it was your fault we’re here. Did you accidentally create this world and drag us all into this? “ I counter, hoarsely.
Lightning cracks, thick veins shooting across the sky. He leans his forehead to mine, gripping the back of my neck. The feeling of his dick hitting the back of my throat after sharing such a visceral experience, lingers there and I am starved for more.
“Tell me, has he said anything to you?” he whispers.
“So that’s why you’ve cornered me, huh?” Most would be repelled, but I find a jealous jest is alright—sometimes. He leans closer, mouth curving upward ever so slightly; he hovers, lips gently grazing mine. It’s tantalizing, and aching.
“I am yours.” My declaration is barely a purr, stolen by aching need to wrap my tongue around his hard length. Stolen by the breathless image of caressing every bit of his dick from base to tip, over and over again.
Christian steps away, leaving me cold. I watch as he moves to a shadowed corner then emerges with a black rope.
“What are you doing with that?” My muscles tense, eager to experience more of what this is.
The corner of his mouth twitches. Thick rope is launched into the curve of a silver hook, dangling right above us. A perfect fit. What would he need such a skill for?
“Raise your hands,” he instructs. I comply, allowing him to knot the soft material around my wrists. I want this.
From his pocket, he retrieves a small pouch. Walking to the edge of the cave, he pours the material on the ground where the water can’t reach. He returns, a menacing look washing over his features as he studies me, tied up just the way he wants me.
“So? Are you going to do something or just stand there?” My question is so sure, so different that who I have been a month ago. Briefly, I wonder if my shadow has ever been allowed to be so free? Had I ever been this way? Again, he crowds me, fingers nimbly undoing the buttons of my jacket, exposing my bare breasts to the cold air.
“You are the most beautiful thing in this dead, deranged world.” He steps back, studying me, then his hands move to release his still hard dick from his slacks.
“Take me right now,” I order, clenching my thighs to stave the aching.
Water has drenched us both, head to toe, and I want nothing more than to be out of these clothes if only for a few risky moments. Be dammed the Immorcantem, let what lies between Christian and I, be blessed by moonlight and ice.
A fierce snarl tears across his face, a growl rumbles across his chest, exploding on impact as he crashes his lips against mine.
My senses erode, dwindling only to the point where it’s just the sound of mingled breaths echoing between us. Christian pulls back, gripping my jaw. His eyes, a fiery blaze. Different from the gentle man I’d known between my legs a few weeks ago.
He quickly undresses me and I can’t help but lean into adrenaline.
“You’re mine, always, in this life and the next and any that follows. If we die tonight, I’ll know that I had this with you. My one and only.” He captures me in a violent hold, gripping the backs of my thighs, his slacks lowered a fraction, the frenzy too overwhelming for him to focus on anything else. It’s in his eyes, the way his grip bruises me, and I absorb the ferocity.
