“Ew, why were you in Natalivanka’s mom’s room?” Scarlett asked.
He stared at her. “What do you think?”
“You’re banging her mother too?!”
Liam laughed. “No. I just wanted to see the look on your face. Mr. Tanner stopped by earlier and said he needed Natalivanka’s room for something. She’ll be out in a few minutes. She needed a shower.”
RJ high fived him.
I shook my head. “What did Mr. Tanner do to her room?”
Liam shrugged. “No idea. Let’s find out.” He walked over to one of the closed doors and opened it. “Damn.”
I peered around him. It was the same jungle vibes as out here but much darker. There were no fairy lights. Or really many lights at all. And lots of plants to hide behind.
“It’s an orgy room,” Scarlett whispered.
I laughed. “Kinky, Scarlett.”
“I didn’t say I wanted it!” She slammed the door closed. “No one can know about this room. Everyone will be having sex in there.”
“And you want it all to yourself?” I waggled my eyebrows at her.
Axel laughed. “I don’t think we’d mind that.” He wrapped his arms around Scarlett from behind.
Natalivanka walked out of her mom’s room, dressed similarly to me and Scarlett. But her heels were even taller.
“I thought you were taking a shower, babe,” Liam said.
“Yes, yes. Gulag shower.”
“I don’t know what that means, babe.”
“My mother teach me. Never drop soap. Quick quick.” She mimed splashing water on her face. “Before lockdown.”
“Isn’t your mother a queen?” I asked.
“Yes, yes. But before there was hiccup. Gulag.”
“Oh,” I said. “Well...that’s not great. I’m sorry.”
“No, no. It great. My mother is queen now.”
I know... I wasn’t sure where this conversation was going. “We need shots,” I said. I walked back over to the table and poured one more.
“Thank you.” Natalivanka scooped all the shot glasses toward herself. She downed one after the other and kept going. “I thirsty after sex with little red’s brother.” She pointed to Scarlett.
Scarlett looked horrified by that wording.
I laughed. Natalivanka was so cool. But did she think that Liam was Scarlett’s older brother? Because that was not the case. Or maybe she was just calling Scarlett short. Which was accurate, I guess. Who knew.
“Pond leave hole in floor?” Natalivanka asked.
Well, crap. Apparently Mr. Tanner hadn’t gotten approval for that. “I don’t think so...”
“Vladimir!” Natalivanka scooped up a hairless cat that had just caught a fish in the pond. “Good cat dictator.” She kissed the cat’s wrinkled cheek, barely dodging the fish tail swishing everywhere.
I’d heard about there being a cat loose in the apartment, but I’d never seen him until now. He was a stealthy little thing. And definitely low maintenance. We’d literally never fed him before. No wonder he was good at catching pond fish.
