“Oh. He’s handsome.” Her brows furrow. “He looks a bit... grumpy.”
A dreamy sigh escapes me. “I know. His grumpy face is adorable.”
I press my phone against my chest while Gracie stares at me like I lost my mind.
“Well, call me if you see him.” I flutter my fingers in a wave and hurry out the door.
Strike one.
So much for my theory that everyone in town goes to the coffee shop. The giant, wounded hitman who fucks like a god blew that theory out of the water.
It’s okay.
I’m determined.
And when I want something, I get it.
Even if I have to kidnap him.
I grin as I slide into my SUV, remembering him sitting beside me only hours earlier.
Which reminds me. Maybe I should stop at the hardware store and get some supplies in case I need to restrain him.
Plus, men love the hardware store. So he might be there.
With a smile, I start my vehicle, make sure it’s clear, and press the accelerator, heading for stop number two.
I stroll into the hardware store, making a mental list of items that might be helpful to kidnap and restrain a man as big as Roman.
Of course, a lot of items in a store like this are unfamiliar to me. I may need some assistance.
I spot a clerk wearing a red vest and make a beeline for him.
“Hi.”
He turns and looks at me, a smile curling his lips. “Can I help you, miss?”
“I’m looking for a man.”
He straightens and tugs on his hardware vest like he is exactly what I need.
Oh no.
“I mean, I’ve already found him. But I lost him.”
He deflates like a balloon. His brows furrow. “Okay.”
“He looks emotionally unavailable.”
“Um... I’m not sure what that looks like.”
“He’s very handsome.” I wave my hand like I’m fanning myself. “Like, insanely hot.”
“Oh, um... I’m not into guys.”
I blink at him.
This is about me, not your sexuality.
