When my knees buckle, Rhett catches me before I can tumble to the ground.
“Luca,” Rhett calls, alarmed.
Panting, my hair hangs over my face. It is a struggle to understand his words.
It is even harder to force out words from behind my teeth. “I…am…okay.”
My sharp canines ache to bite and bond.
I raise my head and sniff.
My pupils dilate when I smell the wild blackberry scent of my Omega.
Rhett steadies me. “Go save our Omega.”
“Hunt. Omega,” I snarl.
Chase her. Catch her. Rut her.
Rhett’s eyes glint. “Good Alpha.”
I snap at him, and he dances back with a laugh.
“I’d forgotten how much I love you like this.” Rhett avoids my clawing swipes. “You’re not obedient but trouble. The best kind. I love to have fun putting you in your place, but you have a job to do. Claim your Omega.”
I bare my teeth at the other Alpha just to show him that I don’t follow his commands.
Then I prowl across the garden.
The Omega is sitting on the lap of an amber-eyed Alpha who is scrambling out of the way.
Shame.
I feel like a fight before a fuck.
“She’s all yours, pretty Alpha. Wow, you’re hot when you growl like that.” My Angel gestures at the Omega like she is a gift. “Do your dominant shit with her.”
I ignore him, crouching down to sniff the Omega.
She’s beautiful.
But too hot.
I rub my scent gland against her forehead to help, before licking up her throat.
I deepen my pheromones.
The Omega’s eyes snap open. She stares woozily at me.
Then she starts to purr.
I growl in answer.
I push her onto her back, straddling her.
I devour her mouth with deep, sweeping strokes of my tongue, claiming her.
My mind is hazy.
