She Walks with Broken Things

His thumb stroked me. Sliding across my cheek as I pushed his trousers down, then his boxers. He was already hard when I moved back against the cushions and lowered my head.

Smooth. Warm. And all mine.

I licked, then took him deeper.

Sliding all the way inside.

A low moan escaped him, resounding like thunder in his chest.

Still his thumb never stopped. Caressing. Loving.

“Nyssa.”

“Hmm?” I answered around him.

The vibrations made him shudder. I licked all the way, kissing the pulsing vein underneath and ran my tongue around the edge of him. I’d never experienced a man like this. Never played. Teased. Never allowed myself to feel powerful.

I lifted my gaze, finding those pale orbs fixed on me.

A shiver coursed through me.

I held that stare.

And took him all the way inside.

His breath caught.

I opened wider.

Pushing against the soft part of me.

My throat closed.

Gripped.

He shuddered.

Growled.

Pulled out and grabbed me.

“Enough.”

I licked the trace of saliva away as he carried me to the bed.

Firelight danced across the room, casting a faint glow against me as he tossed me softly to the comforter. I pushed away, scurrying backwards. His grip was steel around my ankles. Then he yanked me closer. Bare legs widened. His shirt rode up, bunching around my waist, exposing the sheer panties I was wearing.

“You wear my goddamn shirts.” His voice was rough. “Break every rule I ever made.”

He lowered himself until his forehead rested against mine. “You walk into my study like you belong there.”

A quiet laugh escaped me. “I was beginning to think I did.”

His hand stilled against my cheek. “That,” he said softly, “is the problem.”

I searched his face. “What problem?”

“You’ve stopped feeling like a guest.”
