She Walks with Broken Things

Silence settled between us.

“You’ve become part of this house now.” His thumb brushed my cheek. “And somehow you’ve become part of me.”

For a long moment neither of us spoke. The fire crackled behind us. Outside, the wind moved through the pines. Inside, there was only the steady sound of our breathing.

“I don’t know what you did to me, Nyssa.” His smile was small. “But I’m not the same man I was before you walked into my life.”

I tilted my face to his touch. “Good. Because I’m not the same woman. Now, make love to me, Alaric. Show me what I mean to you.”

That small smile grew wider.

His pale stare sharpened on my face.

I swore… he saw me.

Then he lowered his head. His mouth finding mine. He dropped his hand. His fingers finding the buttons of his shirt, working them open. Cool air brushed my skin. My nipples hardened. Body shivered. He opened the shirt wider, but he didn’t pull it free. Instead he gripped me around the waist and lifted, turning me around until I lay face down.

“Up, little one. You want to feel how you affect me? Then we start here.”

I couldn’t stop the smile, pushing to all fours. He dragged my panties down, easing them around my knees and tossed them to the floor.

“Don’t think you’re getting them back. You take mine. I take yours.”

His pants hit the floor at his feet. Warmth pushed against me. I closed my eyes as he pressed between my cheeks. Fingers skimmed, pushed, finding the heat of me.

“Jesus Christ, Nyssa.”

He pushed in further, making me arch my back.

“That’s it. That’s my little one.”

One slow push and he was inside. I shuddered, biting down on a whimper. My God he felt good. So. So. Good. I ached higher, driving myself backwards on him. He gripped my hips… then thrust.

I was lost in the movement of him.

Lost with the slam of our bodies.

Until I didn’t know where I ended and he began.

His hands roamed over my back. My shoulders and reached around to cup my breasts.

“You,” He grunted. “Are everything.”

I rose up, pressing my back against him. He held me there, driving between my legs. Cradling my body against his.

“I… I love you,” I whispered. “I love you, Alaric.”

He went completely still.

His forehead rested against mine.

One long breath.

“God help me… “ he murmured, burying himself deep. “And God help the rest of the world.”

His voice broke for the first time.

“I love you too.”
