Packing for Vacation

“Do it.” I dare him. “Rut me.” I turn my head, closing my teeth around his earlobe, and feel the growl he makes in my bones.

Yes, alpha.

“Knot me so I can come around you again, alpha,” I demand, my hands on the meat of his ass.

I can tell the instant he slips over the edge and into that haze of pure instinct, a true alpha rut. My wrists are pinned above my head. The cadence of his hips change from that slow grind to a hard and fast fucking, a single-minded race towards the end. There’s no room for words now, just the desperate need for both of us to be as close to one another as humanly possible.

I come the moment he knots me, and the utter fullness of him expanding inside me is everything I ever needed. His hips stutter, hot ropes of cum filling me as his knot continues to swell, my cunt pulsing around him for a deliciously extended period of time until we’re tied.

There’s no greater sensation in the world than being trapped on an alpha’s cock.

In the aftermath the only sound is our heavy breathing. The weight of him above me is wonderfully satisfying, and I can feel his heart hammering in his chest. I run my hand up and down his spine repeatedly, the thought I only met him this morning rolling around in my head. It seems like a lifetime ago.

“Am I crushing you?”

“No, you’re good. Perfect, actually.”

He moves us anyway, hooking a leg under mine and lifting my weight with an ease that tells me he’s done this plenty of times before. There’s only the slightest pull where we’re tied as Matiu rolls us so that I end up on top. I relax into him, my face pressed to his neck.

This must be what true contentment feels like. His scent is a drug made just for me, and I’m lulled into a half-sleep.

“Am I crushing you?” I suddenly think to ask.

He snorts as if that’s the most ridiculous question in the world. “No. You’re naughty, though.”

It takes me a second to think about why I’d be considered bad, and then it’s my turn to snort. “Sorry,” I say in a tone that makes it clear I’m definitely not. I kiss his throat. “I like you in rut.”

“Mm. Well, if you go into heat you can bet you’ll see that again.”

I hum in agreement. “At this rate I’ll go into heat tomorrow. I’m joking,” I add hastily as he stills under me, his eyes wide with panic. “I think it’ll be at least a couple of weeks. My body has always been on the slow end of things when it comes to hormones. I just said it because everything feels more… more between us,” I say stupidly, unable to settle on the right word. “Even just your scent…”

He nods, understanding my meaning.

“I’ve been meaning to ask…” My face grows hot, and I’m thankful he can’t see how red my cheeks are from this angle. “What exactly is your scent? It’s like pepper… but it’s not? I was wondering if it was nutmeg, but that didn’t seem right either. And it’s earthy, but sweet…”

Matiu’s arms tighten around me in a hug for a moment before relaxing once more. “Kawakawa is the spice you’re smelling. It’s a plant here, used in rongoā Māori—Māori medicine. Remind me to show it to you tomorrow. And the rest is just… the bush.”

“The bush?”

“Coastal bush, after the rain, when the mānuka is in bloom.”

I press my nose to his skin once more, closing my eyes, imagining the scene he just painted. “That’s very poetic,” I whisper, and kiss his chest. “You have to take me to a place that smells like you.”

“I think there’ll be plenty of chances for that.”

What about Scott? How will this work with him? I want to ask, but despite us both knowing that he’s also my scent match, it feels almost intrusive to mention him in this moment. I’ve always been keenly aware that while omegas are often the ones to curate packs and encourage—and need—group sex, it’s also important that we make time for each relationship we have individually. That Matiu and Scott are colleagues makes things even harder to navigate.

Matiu seems to be a mind reader. “You’ll get on well with Scott.”

“You know that?”

“I’m certain of it.” His lips press to my forehead once more. “Like I said, you don’t need to worry.”

Chapter Five

Scott

Iwake with a start as my phone rings. “Fuck’s sake,” I groan. I should have put it on silent last night. Barry lifts his head from his spot down at the foot of my bed, letting out a quiet woof.
