Brooker: Is this Leah from a couple of months ago? The girl you left TJ’s with?

I was actually grateful Brooker brought the conversation back to me, for once I was excited to talk about my personal life and what the others were saying about Ricci’s girlfriend … well, she did live a lavish life in New York City and went to every fashion show I’ve ever heard of. But it wasn’t my place, or anyone else’s on the team, to judge her.

Me: Yes, we didn’t exchange numbers then, so coming to the stadium was the only way for her to get in contact

Brooker: Are you excited about this? Or, like, do we need to go to TJ’s so you can vent?

Me: I’m excited, extremely excited. I hadn’t realized how badly I wanted a family until now

Carter: Congratulations, man

Gallagher: Congrats! We doing a baby shower?

Taylor: I think you normally do those after you find out the gender. She’s not that far along, right?

Me: No, that won’t be for another couple of months

Alvarez: How much research have you done since you found out?

Me: It’s all I’ve done since I got home. If I didn’t think it’d overwhelm her, I’d have sent Leah a list of things I wanna do and get for her

Fuller: So is she your girl now?

Me: Oh, no. We both don’t have time for a relationship, but … well, a kid is something we want enough to make time for

Taylor: Different, but we got you

Jimenez: Holy shit, congratulations Brooker! Can I tell Rosa? We’re not doing kids, but we love them

Me: I don’t see why not

Kean: Congrats

Kean: Kodi says congrats too and is already looking at soccer themed onesies

Brooker: lol, Kean’s unlocked Kodi’s baby fever

Kean: She is … making a lot of cooing noises at her phone
