Ripping the Odds

“But I killed the mood.”

“You didn’t”

“I did.”

“Pru”––I rocked my hips, letting the tip of my cock brush against her thigh––“you didn’t”

“Oh!” she exclaimed.

“Yeah, oh. Now hush and let me make you feel good.”

She opened her mouth to reply, except her response turned into a deep moan when my tongue licked across one nipple, then the other before I sucked a tight peak into my mouth. At the same time, my fingers coasted along her ribs, over the soft swell of her belly, straight to the fire between her thighs. It was my turn to moan.

“You’re dripping for me, Pru.”

I dipped a finger deep inside her tight heat. When I gently worked in a second, her back bowed off the mattress. “Oh, God,” she panted over and over again. My rhythm never faltered. In and out. Slow and steady. A beautiful, beautiful torture.

“Zak, I can’t take it any more.”

Neither can I, baby, I thought to myself. She needed to go over the edge before my dick exploded. Finding her clit with my thumb, I rubbed circles over the bundle of nerves while my fingers continued their ministrations. Her hands flew to my shoulders, both pushing me away and pulling me closer as her breathing sped up. I could feel her inner walls fluttering. She was almost there. Just a little more.

“Say my name when you come, Prudence.”

I moved, scrambling down the bed to get between her thighs. My tongue replaced my fingers, alternating between lapping at her core and spearing deep inside. Her tangy flavor exploded in my mouth. Wanting to come with her, I shoved my hand down between my thighs, stroking my dick fast and furious. Not long after, Pru found her release, groaning my name. I followed her over the edge.

A month had gone by since that night. Pru and I were inseparable. We went on dates once a week, and she slept in my bed every night, even though she insisted on keeping most of her belongings in her original room. She knew my body, and I knew hers, despite the fact we hadn’t taken it to the next level. The anticipation was killing me, but I knew it would be worth it in the long run. It was the best four weeks of my life up until now.

“Tell me,” I sneered at Mak.

When he told me the names of the men who escaped from the warehouse, I figured they’d be in our custody within days. I was wrong. Even with a bounty on their heads, they still managed to bury themselves so deep in the underworld my best men couldn’t find them. They’d have to surface eventually, and when they did, I’d bury them permanently.

My brother ignored my attitude, choosing to pour each of us a drink from the bar in my office instead. He handed me a vodka tonic, clinked his glass against mine, and said matter of factly, “Oleg Danilova, Machail’s man from the warehouse, is dead.”

“That’s disappointing.” I took a sip. “What about the one with the scar?”

Isaak Sorokino was the one I wanted. It was his blade that caused the most damage, and his face was the one haunting Pru’s nightmares. That motherfucker would die painfully. Guaranteed.

“We’ve tracked him to New York.”

“New York’s a big fucking state, Mak.”

“No shit.”

“Sorry. Please continue.”

“Alexsei has connections in the city. I’m sending he and Luka there to see if they can flush him out.”

“He’s not on Daria’s protective detail anymore, so it shouldn’t be an issue.”

“They’ll leave tomorrow.”

“Good.”

He finished his drink, walked to the door, and paused with his hand mid-air. A knot formed in the pit of my stomach. Nothing could’ve prepared me for what he said next.

“Someone else was drugged at Quantum.”

“Who?”
