The boy had said I'd be a hit at the party. Exactly what kind of party was this? And why had I been told to wear a mask?

Chapter 13

Halfway up the long shadowy driveway, I stopped my car. I adjusted the rearview mirror.

I adjusted my mask and quickly fixed my lipstick, which had been smeared when I gave the boy a blowjob.

I then continued driving up to the mansion. From outside it looked quiet and subdued. I didn't see any cars at all, but perhaps they'd been parked behind the mansion.

The driveway ended in a horseshoe, where it circled past the front entrance. There, I could see two young doormen.

Each wore a bow tie but no shirt. They had chiseled chests that gleamed in the night.

I drove forward and stopped in front of them. I got out of the car. One of them instantly approached me. When he elegantly bowed, including a hand wave, I nearly jumped back.

"Good evening, miss," he said. "May I have the honor of parking your car?"

I simply stared at him for a moment. He had a pretty boy face. His chest was worth sighing over.

I put out my keys for him to take. He took them, brushing his fingertips across mine as he did so.

I then watched as this beautiful specimen of man took my keys, got into my car, and then drove it to someplace behind the mansion.

I turned and looked at the other valet. He could have been the first's twin brother. He bowed to me just as the other doorman had.

"I'm sorry, miss, but we stopped announcing new visitors about an hour ago. You are a bit late. The party is in full swing now. Still, I can try to announce you over the music and...um...conversation."

I waved my hand at him.

"I think I'd rather sneak in if that's alright," I said.

"As you wish," he said.

He led me up a short, wide flight of regal steps. He then pulled open one of the massive front doors. He bowed and waited for me to pass him.

From my vantage point, I could not yet see into the house. I could though hear live music playing from the inside. It was jazzy and yet classical, subdued and yet sensual.

I stood there, hesitant. What was I about to do?

The doorman sensing my hesitation, tried to encourage me.

"If I might say so, miss," said the doorman, "you do look ravishing this evening. You're sure to catch the Baron's attention. Best of luck to you."

The Baron? Who was the Baron? What did he mean?

"Thank you," I said.

I held my breath. I moved past the doorman, and I stepped into the house.

I looked up. I froze. I could not believe what my eyes came to first!

My mouth dropped open. My heart immediately began to flutter. I nearly fainted.

I absolutely should not have stared, but how could I not have?

Let me back up.

I was standing in an entryway. It was lit brightly in an orange incandescent glow.
