“I’m not ready to live with you, Logan. This entire situation is just confusing our dynamics. I don’t think that I’m in any position to be in an intimate relationship with you. I still need to deal with many issues, and I don’t want to add the pressure of an ‘us’ into the equation.”

The fight’s leaving my body as I realize how true the words are. I am barely holding on as it is. The thought worries me so much that a shaky breath escapes me, and my eyes fill with tears. Unable to contain them, I let them free fall in hot rivulets, feeling scared of the unknown.

“I don’t want you to feel like you are forced to be with me. The house will be in your name, and you will be the one to decide who will live there.” He pushes the words out, like he can’t handle the thought of me living with another man.

I shake my head. This gift is too big to be accepted. These financial and social differences between us are testing my mindset.

“How about obtaining this house on behalf of our children instead of me? Let them be legal owners of this lovely home. After they turn twenty-five, they can decide what they want to do with it,” I think out loud, certain it might be the best solution.

“I can work with that,” he states, trying to calm me.

“You can’t be living with us, even if you acquired the house. We should have boundaries defining our future dynamics. For instance, I should be able t

o throw you out if I desire with no arguments from you.” I narrow my eyes in warning, waiting for him to disagree.

“I agree. However, I want to be able to freely come to the house to see them. Since you have no man, it shouldn’t be any inconvenience to you,” he states cockily. “Also, I want to cook and be able to give the little ones a bath, or take them to the park. I want us to be friends that are able to co-parent.”

“Can you tell me how you imagine these dynamics work?” This man is determined to push my buttons. I’m apprehensive about his controlling ways, as his “no privacy” issues are precisely what I want to avoid.

“I want to hang out together, have dinners, watch games, or walk to the park or doctor appointments. Perhaps we could start doing those breathing courses for parents. We need to get the house ready, so my close involvement is my most important request. Also, I want to have the keys and be able to come over without notice…”

He stops, pausing as if waiting for my argument, and then continues when he finds none. “You have panic attacks and anxieties that might someday be harder for you to deal with on your own. This house is further away from the city, so I need to have access to check on you, in case you’ve lost consciousness or need medical attention. I want to be here for you and have shared responsibility in making decisions about our children.”

“As long you’re not controlling every move and decision I make, I can agree with most of it for now. The rest we can revise as we go. Logan, you can’t overthrow me in this house with your mingling ways, denying my authority. If, by any means, that’s your intention, I assure you, we will be moving out to my apartment.”

He nods in agreement and finally gives me a delighted smile.

By the time agent comes, we have a plan of action. While he works with an agent and his lawyer, I sit on the stairs watching them, questioning my decision to agree to this.

Fire Breathing Dragonet

~Logan~

Thirty weeks

Cassandra is swelling with a watermelon belly like no harvest has ever seen. She is the most stubborn woman I’ve ever encountered in my life, and fights me every step of the way.

I’m sure that she wants my ass burned because we’re having a smoking fight right now.

“Why on earth you can’t understand that I will be furnishing the downstairs only when I’m financially ready! You can’t come like a knight with a shining bank account and undermine me. Remember, my home, my rules, and I can throw your sexy ass out of here right now if I wish!”

She’s puffing as always, short of breath, and I see our twins moving in there, agitated.

Her sisters, together with Arianna and Rider, walk in on us arguing. Her sisters take her side straight away while Arianna comes to give me a one-sided hug and stays with me. Rider, although he shakes my hand, retreats to the garden. Smart bastard!

I try to come closer to rub her belly and calmly talk with her, but she steps away from me and briskly walks out to the kitchen. Oh, no. The last time she did that, she took the frying pan and swung it. I was telling her that she would have to accept what I gave her, which was a stupid move.

She got hold of the weapon and tried to hit me in anger, yelling that arrogant, foolish men should learn the lesson of ordering around a woman in her domain. She looked too hot for me to take her seriously at first, but I only end up with my ribs whacked. Probably because my head was out of reach. My balls nearly became an omelet, just seconds later.

“Oh no, you don’t! We are going to talk like two adults and get this sorted out today.” I catch her arm, and turn her towards me. For one moment, the desire to taste her lips takes over me. I wind my fingers into her long hair and gently pull her to me, pressing my lips against hers. She lets out a surprised yelp, giving me a chance to deepen the kiss and make her moan. Not a second later, she bites my lip.

“Get your ass out!”

I look at her swollen lips and breathless expression. The desire to see how much anger can be molded in passion is overwhelming, but the very unrestful gang in her womb needs to calm down first.

“Ok, how about we ask someone else’s opinion about this. I desire to have your aching back relax on a comfortable sofa, and have a proper table and chairs to dine, with the family serving your cooked dishes.” I glance at Cassandra’s very amused sisters, who look like they want to eat popcorn while watching our fight to establish who has the most authority and common sense in the house.

“Well, you could definitely use a sofa here and some soft, cozy carpet while watching the fireplace burn,” Aisha carefully points out, watching her with amusement.
