She smirks, brushing a strand of blonde weave outta her face. She’s wearing a short faded jean skirt with a yellow low-cut blouse. I ain’t gonna front, yo. She’s lookin’ mad sexy in her lil wears. “Umm, hello to you, too.” I glance down at her smooth, bare legs, then down at her yellow painted toes peeking outta a pair of strappy sandals before looking back up at her. I can see it in her eyes. She’s lit up.

“Yo, when’d you get here?”

She stumbles back a bit, placing a hand up on her hip. Seems like every broad up this bitch tonight is boozed up. “I’ve been here. And I saw when”—she points a finger at me—“you walked your slick ass up in here.”

I frown.

“Yeah, niggah. I’ve been watching you all night, sitting ya fine ass up at the bar. Got all these bitches all up in your face ‘n’ shit. And I know you ain’t hardly think I was gonna let you walk up outta here with some other bitch so you can play her like you tried to play me. Ohhh, noooo, niggah. Not tonight.”

I can tell she’s about to really get shit poppin’ real quick if I don’t spin off on her drunk-ass. “Yo, ma, you tripppin’. But I ain’t ’bout to stand here ‘n’ beef wit’ you. I’m out.” I brush past her, heading toward the exit. But her ass is right behind me still poppin’ shit. And I’m like, “What the fuck?!” But I don’t snap on her ass ’cause I really don’t know who she’s hear wit’ or what the fuck she’s all aggie about. I mean, a’ight, so I gave her a number to one’a my dead pre-paid joints. Big deal. I don’t know her. She don’t know me. And it ain’t like I owe her shit.

I stop in my tracks and turn to her. “Yo, what the fuck is your problem? Why are you tryna be all up on my neck, yo?”

“I’m on your neck because you and me have some unfinished business, that’s why, niggah. And if you wanna see me turn it up out here tonight, keep walking and see what I do.”

Some niggah she must be cool wit’ walks up on us, shooting me a look. “Yo, you good, baby?” He gives her a hug ‘n’ kiss on the cheek while eyeing me all reckless ‘n’ shit.

Alicia narrows her eyes at me, then looks up at dude. “Hey, Roy. Yeah, we good. Ain’t that right, Reggie?”

I eye dude. He’s about six-feet-something, and every bit of two-hundred-thirty-plus pounds. The niggah’s arms are like tree trunks. Ain’t no way I’m tryna rock wit’ this niggah. Two of his boys are posted up in back of him. And it’s just me out this bitch, so ain’t no way I’m tryna get caught up in no drama, feel me? I shoot Alicia a look, clearing my throat. “Yeah, no doubt. We good.”

She smirks. “Just what I thought.” Dude says something in her ear. And she giggles. “Niggah, you stupid.” He laughs. She playfully swats his arm. “You know how I do, boo. I gets hood when I have to.”

Dude cuts his eyes back over at me. “Oh, I know how you do it, baby. And you know I got ya back, ya heard?” He raises a brow, then steps off wit’ his boys in tow. I keep my cool, but inside I’m relieved that them niggahs ain’t jump into their capes ‘n’ try’n play Captain Save A Trick.

I sigh. “A’ight. You got my attention. Obviously there’s something you wanna get off ya chest. So what it is?”

“Let’s go to your truck. What I have to say to you I don’t wanna say it out here. I don’t want everyone all in our business.”

I blink. Bitch, you was already about to let shit get live out here. Now you wanna be worried ’bout muhfuckas in our business. We ain’t got no business. But, whatever! As long as her ass ain’t tryna turn it up, I’m good.

“You are a real fucked-up individual for how you did me, niggah. But, it’s all good. I got something for your black ass, niggah.”

I suck my teeth, stepping off. Here we go wit’ this shit. She follows behind me. And the whole time she’s walking up on the heels of my Timbs she’s saying shit like, “Yeah, niggah, you did that. You played the shit outta me real good…But I got something for you, niggah…You think you can come up in my hood and play me? Oh nooo, boo-boo. You fucked the wrong one, hun.”

I let the bitch keep talking. But I’m kicking myself for getting caught up in some dumb shit. I knew I shoulda never came up in this spot. I shoulda took my ass over to the city like I was gonna do from the rip.

“I feel like punching you in the back of your head, niggah.”

I shoot her a look. “Yo, go ’head wit’ that.” I shoulda knew her ass was ratchet. When we get to my whip, I disarm the alarm. She opens the back passenger door and climbs in.

I frown. “Yo, why you sitting back there?”

“I don’t wanna sit in the front. And I don’t want you sitting up there either.” A part of me is thinking I should snatch her out by her hair and throw her onto the ground, then back up over her ass and peel off. But I shake the idea from my head. I open the other backseat door and get in.

“A’ight, yo,” I say, shutting the door and looking at her. “You got me. Now what you gotta say to me?”

She shifts her body toward me, staring me down. “Do you even remember my name?”

I give her a screw-face. “C’mon, yo. I know you ain’t almost get me caught up in some dumb shit wit’ ya peeps ’cause you wanna play the name game. Yeah, I remember ya name. So what’s really good?”

“Answer the damn question. Do you remember who I am or not?”

“I already tol’ you. Yeah, I know who you are, Alicia. I met you at that spot in Paterson.”

She grins seemingly satisfied that at least I know who she is. “Yeah, and we fucked right here…in this truck, niggah.”
