As they walked along the docks and got to large shipping vessel, she saw the captain and he was talking to one of Vincenzo’s men. They were arguing and then Vincenzo’s guy walked toward them.

“He isn’t giving up the information. Said that the person would kill him and his family if he divulged it.”

Louisa started walking down the dock toward the guy. “Hey, can I talk to you?”

“I don’t want any trouble. I don’t know anything.” He said backing up and heading toward the boat like he would climb aboard it.

“You won’t get killed and nor will your family.”

“Yeah, why should I trust you?”

“The person who hired you to take the additional…luggage along with you on your last trip, didn’t kill you when you returned. You’re already forgotten. Plus, by the time that person maybe figures out the boat log identified them and where you went, they’ll be either beaten or dead by the hands of Ivan Sokolov for abducting his woman.”

“Ivan Sokolov? What?”

“Yeah buddy, whomever the person was, they scammed you. Those men took Mr. Sokolov’s woman and they plan on killing her. He’s on a rampage as it is, and right now, one phone call to him and he’ll have men here and you’ll be wishing you cooperated with me instead.”

“This isn’t what that woman told me. She said it was a business deal and that no one would find out.”

“Woman?”

“Yeah, older, bitchy blonde. Cassandra.”

“Cassandra Holmes?” Louis asked shocked.

“Yeah, that’s her. She gave me five grand to keep my mouth shut and an additional five to stop at a port in North Carolina.”

“North Carolina?” Louisa asked.

“Yeah, Port City in Willington. Got there at night, they boarded another boat, got to shore and I headed back.”

“Did you hear anything else? Anything at all that could help?” She asked him. He looked her over and she gave him a wink. “Please, Mr. Sokolov will be appreciative.”

The guy snorted. “I don’t want to be on that man’s shit list. Yeah, two guys they were with were talking about women. About a place an hour inland where they could have some company for the night, if you know what I mean.” She knew what he meant and apparently so did Vincenzo.

“You got enough. Let’s go.” Vincenzo told her.

“I appreciate the help.” She said and the headed to the car.

“Not good.” Vincenzo said to her as they got into the car.

“What? We found out that bitch was part of this. Annabella hated her from the start. I need to call Commerce so they can grab her.” She pulled out her cell phone and Vincenzo grabbed her hand. She stopped and looked at him.

“I’m sorry, but you need to know, Louisa, there are several drop off points across the United States used for human trafficking.”

“What?”

“It sounds like Volkov’s plan is to ship her off when he’s done torturing her and Sokolov.”

“Why would you say that?”

“The guys on the boat with Volkov, they run that route. They load up boats and make that trip and they benefit from tasting the product. Look.” He said and then showed her his phone and the text from one of his friends.

“Then we need to move quickly.”

Commerce was standing next to Falcon and Ivan. Mirnon and Roman returned a few minutes ago after they visited Volkov’s family. They ensured us that no one had helped Volkov and the family insisted that he did all this on his own without their knowledge.
