Dante put the light on in the back seat.

“Is Annabella back at the penthouse yet?” he asked and fixed his tie and looked into the mirror. “Fuck, there’s lipstick on my shirt, and I fucking smell like her perfume.”

“Not good, Annabella just got there.”

“Cassandra was saying some nasty shit. I don’t trust that bitch.” Mirnon said from the front seat.

“I’m done with her business. I’ll let Rustin and Alex know. What did Denver and Roman say about tonight?”

“Everything was fine. Annabella and her friends were safe. She left at 12:00 as you ordered. Roman and Mirnon are there with her now and the rest of security is in place.” Dante told him. Ivan leaned back and exhaled.

“At least the deal is done for the new club with Yolkov. The place will need some work and changes in management, but otherwise it’s another key location and gold mine.” Dante said to him.

“I’m glad that order of business is complete, but what Cassandra did tonight was out of the ordinary, don’t you think?” he asked and squinted at Dante.

“What are you thinking?”

“What I was thinking a few months back.” He said and then pulled out his cell phone and texted one of his men who he had assigned to watch Cassandra. He asked him to keep eyes on her for a bit. His gut clenched in warning.

“Ivan?” Dante questioned him.

“I don’t want to hear about your ideas of me being paranoid. There’s something going on with her, and the last couple of times we all met for business, she’s pushed herself on me. I’ll handle this.”

A few minutes later Ivan entered the townhouse. He dismissed Roman and Denver, and headed towards the bedroom. When he walked into the room, there lay Annabella just as he ordered her to be. He eased off his tie, turned to put away his gun.

“Successful meeting?” She asked. He turned to look at her. So sexy, and beautiful. He still couldn’t believe that she belonged to him. That she was here waiting for him.

“Ivan?” She scrunched her eyebrows together and rose up from the bed. She knelt on it and crawled toward him. He looked at her slid his arm around her waist and kissed her. She pulled back, narrowed her eyes and inhaled. Her eyes darted to his shirt.

She reached out and touched the collar. “What’s this?”

“Don’t. It’s nothing.” He undid the shirt and tossed it off, he stood up and began to undress the rest of the way.

“It doesn’t look, or smell like nothing.” She whispered and h

er voice cracked.

He didn’t know how to react. How to stand his ground as a boss and also as a lover.

“No questions, remember?”

She got off the bed. “About business yeah, about another woman? About lipstick on your shirt, the scent of perfume on you. Not happening.” She started to get off the bed and walk away.

He grabbed her hand and pulled her into his arms. He hugged her to him, inhaled against her neck.

“We finished the meeting and Cassandra grabbed me and started kissing me. I pushed her away, told her to stop and she did it again. Dante stepped in and I told her we were done with business. That I won’t work with her anymore. Needless to say, she was angry. That’s it. That’s what happened.” She pulled back, looked at him like she was trying to read his mind.

“I’m not lying to you, nor will I stand here and do this. It’s over.”

“Not yet it isn’t.” She took his hand and started to lead him toward the bathroom.

“Annabella?”

“If it’s okay by you, I think a shower is in order before anything else.”

He picked her up into his arms and she straddled his waist. He pressed the button on the wall for the high tech shower to start. As he got in under the spray of water with her she reached for the soap and immediately began to lather it up. She was gentle against his face, and his neck and then he rinsed off and she inhaled against him.

“Better?” he asked her.
