“Stop what?” He asked innocently, dark tousled hair and swollen lips making him look even more irresistible.

“Looking at me like that, I’m trying to think.”

The satisfied smile that spread across his face was too much, and she couldn’t help but laugh.

“Too fast?” He asked, lifting her off his lap as though she weighed nothing, and sitting her down just in front of him on the blanket. Nayome was glad he kept hold of her hand, not quite ready to completely break the contact with him.

“Aah, I don’t know. I mean, yes, but…” Nayome said. It was hard to focus with that self-satisfied lopsided grin staring back at her, but she managed to continue. “I don’t usually…I guess it usually takes me longer to get, well, intimate with anyone. This feels very intense. Let’s pump the brakes a bit. Too much has happened and I feel…scattered.”

“I will try to keep my hands to myself.”

“For now,” Nayome clarified, and was rewarded with the full force of his smile as he laughed, eyes twinkling as his eyes raked over the length of her body.

Nayome smiled, a small smile just for herself, as she revelled in the fact that this large, beautiful man wanted her.Her.She felt more feminine than she ever had, and empowered.

Glancing over head, Nayome gasped as she saw a few twinkling lights flickering in and out of the overcast haze above their heads.

“Bal!” Grabbing his hand, Nayome pointed to the vision overhead. Leaning back on the blanket, hands intertwined, they watched together as three fireflies danced merrily above their heads. They twirled in and out of the mist, rising higher and higher, until they eventually faded out of sight.
