JULIUS ALLCOTT

“Yes, yes, yes,”Julius cackled as he placed the personal items belonging to his wife and daughter around the underground sewer beneath Syndicate Tower.

His replicates and Faithful had drawn the Sinners out. He could hear them fighting as he set up the ritual. He was running out of time.

“Get the chalk,” the voice hissed. “Make the circle like I showed you.”

“There’s still too much water,” he replied and frowned at the puddled concrete culvert.

He’d let loose a few sentient plants in the sewage system to drink up the water so he had a clear view to the surface below. He’d been planning how to do this for days. He pulled what remained of his shredded trousers off and mopped up the mess around the gouge marks the replicates had made when digging.

“Hurry,”the voice urged.

Julius scratched the arcane symbols into the concrete with shaking fingers. He couldn’t believe he was about to see his family. Finally. He was bringing them home.

He tapped his chest with a chalk-stained finger. “Almost time, my loves. Almost time.”
