EPILOGUE

Sybil

“Can I ask you a question?” JoAnna asks me.

“Um… sure,” I say.

“Why are you opening your gift shop when your dream is real estate?”

I giggle and say, “The gift shop is an opportunity. My dream isn’t real estate. It’s just having my own company and taking advantage of opportunities.”

“You’re like… Well, you’re not like a guy but it’s weird because you have ambitions like a guy.”

I giggle and say, “I have ambitions like a little girl.”

As if to make sure he can prove to the world what I’m saying is true, Clint pulls up and parks his car on the street. “Daddy!” I shout and run to him. He puts his arms around me and I giggle and kiss him.

“Well, baby girl,” he says. “Looks like you’re finally getting started.”

“Wait!” I say. I watch as the man in the khaki pants and big steel toe boots walks to the big bulldozer. He fires it up and the very first improvement to my lots begins. I turn to Clint and say, “Now I’m finally getting started, Daddy.”

He kisses me and then growls, “Wait until we get home and I get you started on a whole other project.”

A thrill runs through me that feels a lot more powerful than the rumbling of the construction equipment!

If you enjoyed this story, you’re sure to love the next book in this series. JoAnna has been a little for a long time but she hasn’t had a serious relationship for quite a while. Life in Hopewell Springs is wonderful but she’s beginning to think she’s a little girl nobody will like. She takes a job at an Americana and memorabilia store started by her best friend Sybil mostly because it’s the only thing that still ties her to the town she loves. And then love hits out of nowhere when Curt Jameson arrives in town. This Daddy knows what he wants and what he wants is JoAnna.
