Chapter 14

"I'm starting to wonder if you doubted me?" I tease Charlotte.

"Never." She smiles. "But to see it all come together, and just how I pictured everything...It's more beautiful than I imagined."

"Not as beautiful as you," I say.

Charlotte chuckles. "I bet you tell that to all the brides.”

"Of every wedding I've planned so far, yes, I have said it."

Because here I am, planning, and being a bridesmaid in another wedding, less than six months since the first I planned and stood beside the bride in. And the bride is just as beautiful, even if Sophie and I had spent the last hour trying to make her believe that once she'd gotten into her dress. She's convinced her belly looks too big in it, so when she wouldn't take our word that it isn’t, Sophie set off to find Jackson a few minutes ago to make her see reason. Because if he told her she looked stunning, then she'd feel like it.

"Is the officiant here, yet?" she asks.

I nod. "Heather just texted me that he arrived, and she'd given him your marriage license for him to sign right after the ceremony."

"So, tell Jackson it's too late for him to run now."

"And where exactly would I be running?" he questions behind her.

She quickly looks over her shoulder at him, and then at Sophie.

"Did you bring him here for reinforcements?" she asks Sophie.

"Whatever it takes to get you to see you're gorgeous in this dress," Sophie answers.

"When Sophie told me you were doubting that you were anything less than glowing, I knew I had to come over here and make sure you didn't take a single step down the aisle without your mind having been changed."

She gives him an exasperated face. "You're going to stand there and tell me my belly doesn't look way too big right now?"

He closes the small distance between them and puts his hands on her hips. "I’m telling you that you look so damn sexy that if I wasn't dying to hear you promise yourself to me, I'd be dragging you back to our hotel room to fuck you right now."

"Okay," Sophie chirps. "Definitely time for us go."

I just grin, watching Charlotte try to contain her smile as Sophie leads me away. "Hey, I want to see where that goes."

She laughs, then says, "I am sure that if you wanna hear filthy words, there are two men more than willing to give them to you somewhere around here."

As if her words conjure them, as soon as we turn the corner, there are those two men. My two men. Both in button down shirts, Ezekiel's grey and Jeremiah's white, and both in black pants. They laugh at whatever Law says, but then their eyes come to me at the same time, as if whatever makes me aware of their stares whenever they're near me affects them as well.

This is the first time they're seeing me in my bridesmaid dress and the look in both their gazes tells me how sexy they find me. Jeremiah’s eyes go up and down me before he licks his lips. Ezekiel’s bottom lip gets tucked behind his teeth biting into it.

Focus,I chide myself as we walk towards them. This is still a wedding I planned, and no place for me to do exactly what Jackson just mentioned to Charlotte, finding a room where Ezekiel and Jeremiah can take care of the growing tension between my thighs. I swear they know exactly what I'm thinking with the smirk that comes to Jeremiah's face and the arch of Ezekiel's brow. They both seem like invitations. Shawn begins trying to get out of Law's arms at seeing his mother.

"I'm really starting to wonder if I should be offended by how he practically leaps from my arms when he sees you," Law says as we reach them.

"Oh, he just knows who did the work to get him here," Sophie coos while taking Shawn from him.

"Not all the work," Law murmurs. "If I remember correctly."

"Keep talking like that and it'll become nothing but a memory."

I tuck my lips in to contain my laughter, even though Ezekiel and Jeremiah have no problem throwing their heads back and letting their snickers loose. Just then though, Sophie's words before the joke truly sink in, and a thought shuts me right up. And, of course, Jeremiah and Ezekiel notice. Sophie begins talking to Law as they leave his side to walk over to me.

"What's wrong?" Ezekiel asks. "Something not going as planned?"

"Did Charlotte come to her senses and become a runaway bride?" Jeremiah jokes.
