Maia

“Yes. Oh…” I can’t stop moaning. It’s our third round tonight. The first was fast on the couch. The second was slow and emotional in bed. Now we’re in the midst of rough and hard, can’t-get-enough-of-each-other sex.

“Fuck,” he groans, thrusting harder into me.

My eyes slip closed as his fingers roll overthespot and wave after wave of pleasure rolls through me.

“Mai…” His voice is raw and strangled as he loses himself to me.

He collapses next to me, panting. “That’s the most times we’ve done it in one night in a while.”

“The side effects of a toddler running around.”

We’re both breathing heavy still, but we crush our lips together anyway, though we break apart a second later, gasping for air.

“Good thing we don’t use condoms, or we’d be really poor.”

“Yeah, getting an IUD was the best decision I’ve made in a while.” After Leigh got pregnant, Vince and I talked and decided we wanted to take our level of protection up a notch. While some doctors are against IUDs at my age, I did my research and liked the idea of one. Given my history, my doctor was willing to hear me out. Plus, I brought my mom as a reinforcement. Needless to say, I got my IUD. “Here’s to no babies until we’re ready.”

“Speaking of serious things in our future, when do you want to get married?” He rolls his hand over my stomach, pulling me toward him, so we’re both lying on our sides, staring into each other’s eyes.

“Mm. That’s a great question. Call me crazy, but I don’t want to do the huge wedding thing. I’ve had enough theatrics in my life so far.”

Vince laughs then kisses my nose. “You won’t hear any complaining from me about that.”

“I just want it to be an awesome celebration with our family and friends. Maybe… soon?”

His eyes light up. “I’m ready right now, babe.”

“Good to know.” I can’t stop smiling. Like over-the-freaking-moon smiling. “I would like to get a nice dress and have a true wedding, even if it is relaxed. Plus, it would be nice to do it when the weather is a little warmer. Maybe we could do it outside?”

“I like the sound of that. Any idea where?”

“How do you think your parents would feel if we did it on their property? We could get married by the pond, then have a reception in that clearing where you always do donuts in the winter?”

He smiles brightly, but his eyes smolder, the normally bright blue turning dark. “I fucking love the sound of that. And I think they will too.”

“Okay, that just leaves the question of when.”

He reaches over and grabs his phone, pulling up the calendar. “How long will it take you to get a dress?”

“With Leigh’s connections, probably not long. But with alterations, it’ll still take a couple of months. Plus, I’d really like to get to the end of the semester before getting married.”

“That lines up with warmer weather. How about the first weekend in June?”

Our eyes lock as I nod slowly.

He tosses his phone to the side and runs a hand down my ribs. “Then it’s settled. First week of June, you become Mrs. Ardito.” He kisses the side of my neck, and I melt like ice cream on a hot day.

“That sounds incredible. I love you.”

“I love you too.”

I pull the skin of his neck between my teeth as I shimmy my body closer to him.

“Round four?” he asks.

“Mm. Definitely.”

He rolls on top of me and pins my hands above my head. “Ready to be stuck with me forever?”

“Eh, that’s why divorce exists,” I joke, knowing that I’d have to be in an alternate universe toeverdo that.

“Shut up,” he whispers.

“Make me.”

“Yes, ma’am.”

Then he presses inside me and, well, I don’t shut up, but I’m not sassing him anymore either. I dig my fingers into his shoulders and twist my hand through his hair as he looks into my eyes. I could stay this way forever.
