Oliver sighs slowly.
“This has to end, Noel. It has to.”
“And how do you suggest we do that.”
“By bloodytalking, for one,” he hisses. “Man to man, face to face. Just a fucking conversation. No weapons, no accusations. Just you and I, getting this toxicity off of our fucking chests. Because this cannot go on like this.”
My brow furrows deeply as I turn to stab my gaze through the bedroom windows across the room.
“Fine,” I grunt.
“How’s tomorrow night?”
“My home. Seven.”
Oliver sighs. “That’ll be fine.”
“Great.”
I hang up, scowling as I toss the phone back onto the side table.
“That sounded… lively.”
I smirk as I glance over my shoulder. But my grin turns hungry when I see her standing there naked, arms folded beneath her breasts as she leans against one of the posts of my bed.
“Come over here and I’ll tell you all about it.”
She grins mischievously, wagging a finger at me.
“We need to get ready, you know.”
I groan, glancing at the time.
Shit.
In light of Oliver ditching his crusade, the board is meeting this evening—withoutPrince. The shares haven’t officially been sold back to me, but the motions have already been filed, since he’s legally signed the contract liquidating his voting rights.
It’s nothing serious, just a sit-down with everyone to redistribute voting shares. Also, to restart the process of moving my individual companies back out from under the umbrella holding corporation, which was put on hold when Oliver—Ella, if we’re being honest—broadsided me.
But she’s right. We need to get ready to go.
“Fine,” I mutter.
She giggles as she twirls and skips over to the bathroom. I’m not far behind her.
“And how is Oliver?”
I look up from brushing my teeth into the mirror, arching a brow at her standing at the marble basin next to mine.
She grins.
“ItwasPrince, wasn’t it?”
“I’m concerned with how adept you’re becoming at corporate espionage.”
Ella giggles.
“It was Prince,” I growl thinly. “He wants to meet tomorrow, here,to talk.”
