"Grabhim!" Ethan yelled as he reached for my hand, but I was already falling toward his cousin. We both fell to the ground. I struggled to get out of his grasp, but his hand quickly closed around my shoulders. Ethan dashed towards me, but before he could touch me, I felt Dylan's pistol pressed against my cheek.

My first thought was to scold myself because I knew Dylan keeping his gun was a bad idea, but I didn't say anything. I was lying on the ground with a dangerous man, and Ethan couldn't help me. He had the revolver pointed at us, but Dylan, like me, knew it wouldn't help my freedom. Ethan couldn't shoot because I was in the way.

"One step closer, and I'll blow her brains out."

That brought Ethan to a halt.

"I'm not like my father," he grinned. "This gun is completely loaded. I will fucking kill her."

"Let her go," Ethan demanded.

Dylan burst out laughing. "Fuck no. I'm escaping, and if you try to stop me…" He took a look around the room. "Everyone, on your knees."

Nobody moved.

He pressed the gun against my head, and I felt compelled to yell his orders to the men around me, particularly Ethan, who was frozen in place, wrecked by guilt. "Move. Right now, on your fucking knees!" he said it again.

I lay on the ground, a pistol pressed against my head, rendering me dizzyas I tried to focus on my surroundings. Ethan remained in front of us, his pistol aimed at me. Even though he didn't say anything, I could see the rage in his eyes.

Ethan Levine was a man of his word, and he had promised to protect me just a few days before. It was the reason he kept his gun even though he knew he couldn't use it without hurting me.

He'll kill me, Ethan. Just put the gun down, I pleaded but could not find the strength to utter the words.

I noticed Ethan's eyes soften as he looked at me, but he straightened up and let his arms fall to his sides.

"Do it!" Ethan grunted to his men.

"Hands behind your head," Dylan said as they knelt.

They did as he requested. He grabbed me and hauled us to our feet right away.

"Move!"

"Where?" I asked coldly, demonstrating my defiance to him. But my words went unnoticed. He was a scared man with a pistol, which made him a threat to me and others around me.

"Out, into the car," he said.

"Like hell I'll let you leave with her," Ethan said as he stood.

"Ethan, don't!"

He almost screwed the gun's blunt end into my skull by pressing it against my head. It hurt, but I forced myself not to make a sound for fear of upsetting him. "You'd better listento her, Ethan. I am the son of my father. I'm going to kill her."

He looked at me. "Fucking move."

I followed his instructions, and we exited the house without any resistance from the men. We arrived at a car, and he led me around to the driver's side. I looked at him, puzzled, as he opened the door.

"You can drive, can't you?" I nodded."Get in."

Dylan was still holding the gun to my head as I got into the driver's seat. Ethan was out ofthe house andarmed.

Dylan aimed his gun away from me and fired but missed. Hedidn't seem to mind if he hit Ethan. He just wanted to escape.

"Leave him alone!" I screamed.

Dylan only gave me a fleeting glance before returning his attention to the small army outside the house, which was aiming their guns at him.

"I bet you can't gun me down faster than I can kill her," hesaid, pointing the pistol at me as he approached the passenger's seat through the car's hood. He slid into the seat beside me.
